What happened to our nice clean swap shop? The volunteers were doing the best job they could after the gentlemen worker left for the winter.
The answer you get out of the workers there is
not the truth. They keep saying it was problems
with the volunteers. Could they want the volunteers out and the old volunteer from last winter back so no one will no what they are doing?
She was the only volunteer who would not let anyone have anything she wanted. The other ladies and a couple of men went out of their way to help people. Its a shame they were treated so badly by
Scott and the town manager. This is another example of how the town treats honest people. IF you fill the garage up with everything you want and the so called worker from the recycle building your okay. The money the town is not getting from the metal that is being taken is a shame. Why did the workers throw everything out?
The toy bin was tossed along with the fabric bin.
Now we hear the place is going to close for the winter. If the workers left for the winter do not want to pick up the cardboard ect why not call the nice gentlemen who worked there all summer back? The town manager was so worried about what the police chief did but he is okay with the employees taking what the town is supposed to be making money on! One poor man was accussed of taking a bike by an employee. When in truth the employee was taking the bike.

The shop is open now. Most of the stuff that was in there were thrown out by the dump workers. But at least its open. A few volunters are trying to keep it neat. With no heat it is really hard for them. But they are going to put it in a truck body this summer up by the dumpsters. Imagine how hot that will be! The workers at the dump hate the swap shop!

Its a shame about what they did at the alton dump.yes alton has a good thing going for itself wih the swop shop, wish every town had one.
I remember a few years ago, a friend howard who lived in alton brought me there and we would drop stuff off and pick other thing up, ut most of the time we would just drop stuff off.
