FBI joins Lowell inspection probe

The FBI has joined state Inspector General Gregory Sullivan in an expanding probe of the city's Inspectional Services Department.

So the city manager, solicitor and FBI have no comment, but Mayor Caufiled had to comment about the FBI investigation. Not a smart move in my book. If the FBI won't confirm or deny the investigations why would anyone else want to?

It is about time the FBI stepped in here, they should look back to 2000 to 2005 and all the funny dealings that were going on, kickbacks etc, former city officials having their homes renovated, electrical work being done on Acre affordable housing projects and kickbacks being given in order to get the jobs. Federal fund were used in these projects.

Apparently someone in city government has to say something to distance himself from the obvious conclusion that this corruption was openly tolerated for years by the highest level of Lowell government. Nice twist that the FBI investigator is from Lowell. What were the odds & why doesn't the FBI try to appear more professional by getting someone other than a townie?

He has the contract for towing from the city - and he is on the city council. Quoted directly from the article today in the Sun. How is this guy an employee of the city as an inspector, and an employee for a city councilman as a prviate business? Kazanjian is a city councilman that has several different private businesses in this city, and it is obvious that his political position has an influence on his personal finances.

I was just going to mention the city towing contract. How is that not a conflict of interest? I never understood how Kazanjian got away with that. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Conflict of interest? He has a city inspector working at his bar, and sleeping at his "parts" business on the loading dock. He owns a ton of residential property - that needs to be inspected when doing construction - by who? City inspector. He has the city towing contract in his back pocket. All the while - he's a city councilman. Yes, I think a conflict of interest is a good description. The city of lowell huffed;the fbi will puff; and in the end a couple of guys "might" lose their jobs. Of course there will also be some fines(aka payoffs) and in the end all will be the same. Did I forget how much this will all cost in taxpayer monies?

Maybe, if we are lucky, City Hall will get a much-needed enema to flush out all the crap built up since the last time they nailed Tulley. The way politics and municipal government are conducted in Lowell, they need a federal grand jury to convene every few years to move people back in line. Well, in the Past when I owned Property in Lowell. Ihad no luck when I bought a
brand new HOME AND things definetly
were not inspected and just signed off on
I had water pouring into my Home Because
the Plumbing was installed incorrectly, there
was mold growing and I sent certified letters
to the Helath Inspector, Camacho,and I got
no help it was very apparent to Me the City
of Lowell has a lot of corrupt People working for them I ended up giving up after trying
to get help for over a year and sold my Property it's Just to Bad Because I liked Living in Lowell until I found out how Much
one Hand washes the Other I would have never voted for Kazanjian he is one of the top Corrupt People along with Broderick it's
about time the FBI steps in
