It was very frightening, I was going to pick up my grandaugher at Spangler Elementary and was re-routed by a police officer at the corner of Abel and Marylinn, as I looked to my right I could see billowing Black smoke, and it was hard to see the firemen and the truck from the high dark smoke, my dad was a fireman for forty four years and to see the firemen and the police working together to put out this fire and keep the public safe, reminded me of 911 in New York...and I got shivers and got a lump in my throat...for everyone involved. Glad to hear no one was hurt, Thank you Firemen and Policemen.

If it is true about downed power lines starting this fire, what is it going to take before pg&e decide to fix all the lines. This the 3rd or 4th incident alone dealing with the power lines transfer boxes. Thank goodness no one got hurt during this time.

2 Questions:

1. Does Milpitas has adequate number of firemen?

2. What sort of fire will necessitate mutual assistance from neighboring cities' fire departments?

I was going P.E in Milpitas High School 6th Period when we started to notice the smoke. Then minutes later the smoke was gone. Good job firemen. :)

I lived in one of the units and was at home when the fire happened.
The red cross people were nice and helped us out by giving us a 3 day stay at a hotel. The people of Curtner elementary school is helping us with supplies.
Everyone should have at least, a small, easily accesible fire extinguiser in their home. My home had one but by the time I reached it, the fire was too large for me to stop alone.
I don't think I should say anything about the cause of the fire yet.

Milpitas really needs to spend some money on putting the power lines into the ground. It's so ghetto having power lines falling down every so often. MILPITAS - Bury the lines!
