I heard that Jim Motznik failed the Test to be a Judge. He isnt the smartest guy out there. He needs to step down from office if this is true.

I hestitate to comment on self-admitted heresay, but I can note he'd certianly not be the first to fail the mandatory prepatory course for district magistrate. |

Judged:
1 And the law sets no pre-qualifying conditions as to any legal training required for the office, but it will not permit him to exercise that office until he does demonstrate a modicum of understanding of the law he would adjudicate. And if the claims are true, this is a shortcoming of the voters, not Mr. Motznik. |

this is why PA must STOP ELECTING JUDGES!!

Would you rather Fast Eddy appoint them? |

No. Chosen as the most qualified after written and oral tests by a certified board of unbiased, non-political and qualified examiners.

And exactly who, through what process, and applying what standards, would "certify" this "board of examiners" as "unbiased, non-political and qualified?" And is the complex understanding of the law and the judicial temperment required of a judge something for which standardized written and oral tests can be developed? We can't even agree on the effective measurement of academic achievement by public school students through such means. |

When was the last time you voted for a PA public utility commission judge? They handle multi-million dollar complex legal cases; AND they are MERIT SELECTED.
AND they don't get into trouble because they ARE NOT POLITICIANS first, and judges second, unlike elected judges. |

You didn't answer the question: Exactly how would you effect merit selection of judges. The specific process is critical. |

I'd do it the same way they merit selected my next-door neighbor, the PA Public Utility Commission judge.

I called Motznik's office today and asked them if he failed the test. they stated that they have no comment. What a fine judge he will make with the other drunks and lapdogs on the bench that we have here in allegheny county.

jimmy did pass the test now leave it alone
|

How many times did he take it? And the qualifications of an elected public servant, particularly in the justice system, is open to the examination and comment of all citizens, so you can leave that alone, bub. |

I 'sort of' know Jim personally. He and I have emailed for years while he was on City Council. I used to write him and bawl him out constantly for his stupid, stupid votes...he was usually SO wrong...and SO in Luke's pocket. He asked me once to go to coffee with him so he could prove to me he was just a 'hard working guy trying to raise a family"...I declined. He also emailed me one and told me (in anger)... "Don't email me NO MORE"...lol. His grammar leaves something to be desired, also. He is one of the dumbest people in public office I know. He was running down the halls promoting himself for president of City Council BEFORE Bob' O'Connor was even buried...and this is NOT a rumor. He is going to be a judge? God help us if he ever manages to pass the test.

Yes, that Jim Motznik. The guy who, as a Pittsburgh city councilor, once wore sewer boots to a meeting as a stunt. The guy who in 2004 was chased by a WTAE-TV news crew, who wanted to know why he seemed to be double-charging taxpayers for mileage reimbursements.("Councilm an, we got the fuel records," reporter Jim Parsons shouted as Motznik ducked into a bank to escape the camera. "Why are you running?")THIS IS JUST ONE OF THE ARTICLES ABOUT JIM AND HIS 'ANTICS'... HE IS JUST A DISGRACE. QUEEN ELEANOR |
