To close up shop 3 days after Christmas is bad business for all those who purchased gift cards at Damon's.

Yes Tracey you are right.
But this Coperation is deep in debt and what better way than to
make some extra cash than by staying open until after Christmas.

For all the complainers, figure out the spelling.(Obuma, Busch, etc) what is that??
Damon's closed because it was disgusting and dirty. Bottom line. For them to blame the economy is just funny.

Not the economic recession, this was horrible service and lousy food. Management of the York restaurant was totally indifferent to customers. I used to go into that restaurant for lunch several times a week. I really liked the television screens and the trivia games to play. However, the food was just plain bad, stale, dried out. And terribly prepared. I got a sandwich one time that was still frozen in the middle, brought this to the server's attention, and was told "Well that's the way we make it" I brought issues up multiple times to management with only "Then we'll take $10 off your bill" as the only response. I even send letters to corporate with no response. Great location and facility, but horribly managed--not the economy's fault.

You sound like any restaurant manager's worst nightmare. You keep going there, you keep complaining, and you keep getting $10 off your meals.

Sounds like the kind of person that would eat an entire steak except for one nite and then complain! LOL

Why woudl you put an Ihop right beside a Denny's and down the street from another diner?? Either the Ihop or one of the existing places would go out of business next....

My husband & I went to the Hanover Damon's maybe 5 or 6 times a year and generally enjoyed it. But closing right after Christmas and selling gift cards has me very angry. Even if Damon's was hurting for money, SO OUR MANY OF THE CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASED THE GIFT CARDS!!!

This came as a bit of a surprise to me. My Mom and I ate there a few weeks ago, and recently my Mom, my son and myself ate there Dec. 23rd. We had great service, great food, and had an all around good experience. I was talking to my husband about this, who has had experience with doing plumbing in restaurants. He suggested the possibility of health code violations. Ewww! Although we don't know the real reasons, and may never, it's still a gross thought. He said that he would be willing to bet that they reopen within six months.

Good riddance, the service at the Hanover location sucked. Plus our server spilled a bowl of ranch dressing on the floor and left it there. I'd like to see Buffalo Wild Wings in there.

I ate at the York location multiple times over the last year because it is close to my house, my kids like it, and they have lots of sports on. I sent my food back twice and we even swore at one point we wouldn't go back. It's no surprise they closed. While not illegal, it seems unethical to run promotions for gift cards (buy $50, get $10 extra) and sell them all holiday season only to close the store shortly thereafter. Also, think of all the employees that were suddenly and unexpectedly left jobless (the sign on the door said their last checks would be mailed, and they didn't know the store was closing).
