Tough to beat the original on a cold winter's day. Gotta have the pickle. Bowl of chicken noodle soup or chili on the side. Piping cup of Swiss Miss with baby marshmallows. Put an old Bowery Boys movie in the machine and enjoy.

Is this really news? This is why Ohio is a second rate state and Clev. a third rate city..In a city like Las Vegas there would never be a story like this...we address really important stuff like crime, poverty, and injustice...while your soft cities want to tell everyone how oozy and oh-so-comfy a cheese sandwich is....People, you are large enough..You dont need to eat anymore cheese sandwiches....PLEAZE..........

Its good to see that there is a new candidate campaigning for the Republican Party Chairmanship, and that it apeears that the Beacon is supporting the campaign.

Thomas, since you are from Las Vegas, you're probably only reading online and don't realize that this is a story from the food section that runs in the paper on Wednesdays.

No one said it was news, and it's not from Cleveland either. Get a life and quit complaining. I'm sure Las Vegas has some problems you can address.

For Vegas Scum-bag...too bad you didnt stay in Vegas like everything else should! PLEASE! Why is someone of your high{low} caliber even reading this little paper? Something must've drawn you to the article. I'd lay money you're a closet grilled cheese fanatic yourself! This story was a breath of grilled air in between reading about all the crime in and around Akron. Nice to know you can grab an old-fashioned sandwich updated w/twists in the area; hopefully we wouldnt have to listen to you whining at the next table. You need the snot slapped out of you. SCUM SCUM SCUM ...GO BACK TO WHERE YOU'RE FROM!!{That's a line from Fletch , a Chevy Chase movie but truly heartfelt in your case.} HAVE A SANDWICH!Scrumbag!

I like my grilled cheese with a mixture of cheeses, cheedar, american or whatever. Like the one couple I have used strawberry jam on or jelly on my grilled cheese. Bacon fried and grilled cheese is good also.

I have ate at the lockview, the service was slow for our lunch time, and the order for my one friend was wrong.

Sounds like you prefer your grilled cheese with a little boy butter on it. Stop talking, it's starting to sound like a steam bath in here.

Hey Vegas when you were forced to leave Ohio was it because of the new sex offender laws. or did you find a new job as a vegas show girl. (IN DRAGGGGGGGGG) you should be worried about poverty and injustice, why did your paper have nothing to write about, and you had to read a paper from Ohio.

I miss the days when I was able to indulge in a grilled cheese and chilli meal. I gave up all cheese, even on pizza, more then two years ago. Why? Ask your doctor.

Both Lockview and Diamond Deli are fantastic, independently owned and operated restaurants that are well worth checking out.

well here in Akron tommy, we're bold enough to read a newspaper that covers crime, poverty, injustice, AND the oozing goodness of the grilled cheese sandwich.

it is obvious that you're merely jealous of our local Republican Party's next Chairwich.

too bad for you.

Just what the heck do ya'll call yourselves out there anyway? Las Vegans? Las Vegasians? Cheesists?

just what the hell did a cheese sandwich ever do to you?

Yes, it is. And it's enjoyable to read a story like this one considering all of the crappy news that there has been lately. Please pass me a grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes....

MmmMmMMMmm... I had a grilled cheese sandwich last night with some yummy tomato soup. We make ours with cheddar slices.

But hands down the best one we have ever eaten and ever made was from this recipe right here by the Pioneer Woman!
