“All these people care about is breeding these dogs and selling them. They don't care about loving them, caring for them, or for their feelings.”

Respectful barks to these protestors. Ohio Dogsters should note that one of your state Representatives is going to be pushing important legislation. via Dogster For The Love of Dog Blog

Ach vell....

When the PETA folks hit you with their paintball guns amied at your leather coats and shoes you will find out what this little protest is really all about.

Targeting the Amish. Too bad they don't have lobbyists. Frankly, I think the Amish should take it up with the ACLU and give the ACLU a chance to do something good for a change.

Apparently Musician hasn't had to live in a cage he cant even stand in, with his own urine and feces up to his ankles and the only possible water he has to drink is a bowl of green stagnate goo.... maybe if he gets hungry enough he can eat the waste on the bottom of his cage.

You have bigger fish to fry than target the Amish on this if you are really a part of the humane movement concerning animals.
This protest was cowardly.

Go after the big boys in dog fighting and leave the Amish alone.

You really are an idiot aren't you?? So because these pups aren't forced to fight each other but are forced in small cages full of shit and pee, their lives are gravy?? Get over the dog fighting and look in your own backyard, dog fighting and treating dogs like garbage aren't that far a stretch -- it is making money off of animal's misery.

A number of pit bulls were taken....from a neighbor....practically in my backyard. So I know what is going on in "my backyard".

However they were treated as individuals and their ethnicity or religion was not tied into this incident. Animal control did their thing to stop it and the buck ended there.

I am not Amish, I live here in the area, I don't agree with treating animals inhumanely...but...have you witnessed any of this first hand? Do you realize that animals do not have a soul? Why aren't you worried about Greyhounds whou spend their whole life in a cage and if they don't do well on the race track they are taken out and shot in the head for $10 a dog. If we would all spend this much energy on prostitution, child porn, crime, and abortion, you know the crimes against our own race, we might make a difference in this world. By the way Humane Individual, I have seen plenty of well fed dogs that were not caged that eat their own poop.

I would tend to say animals do have a soul of sorts. Many of them have more pleasing personalties than a good deal of humans.

However, these minions picking on the Amish with their little breeding farms .......when they won't go after the organized underground of pit bull dog breeders...
well it's the same kind of folks who are anti-smoking fanatics who shut down Ma and Pa's corner bar and developed their "discriminating" tastes at Applebees and other places that masquerade as restaurants.

it's got nothing to do with being amish. it's got everything to do with deliberetly making a living being suffer. It just so happens that in this particular case, the owners are Amish.

If animals don't have a soul, then why do they express emotions such as anger, anxiety, affection, sorrow, happiness, and depression? Many people have witnessed seeing the images of deceased pets too, walking about as ghosts, just like many people have been visited by ghosts of deceased family members. So are you saying since they "don't have a soul", they shouldn't be treated with compassion? You are one self-centered individual. May God forgive you for not showing mercy upon His creatures.

I do not agree with the way these dogs were being treated but seriously who in their right mind really would? Very few I'm sure.I think this is a
case for the local dog catcher and the local law enforcement only. NOT peta.
While the Columbus dispatch tries to use all the adjectives it can to make the story seem much worse than it probably really is? Those adjectives get some rabid readers frothing at the mouth. You have to ask why would the dispatch go approx. 100 miles away to a small community like Holmes Co. to report a story? When their are no doubt many many such cases and far worse things happening in their own back yard. Does the peta and the dispatch have a hidden agenda?

Makes you wonder.

And yes, Columbus needs to clean its own house before picking on Amish who probably do not even know they are being talked about in Columbus.

Unless of course, they are running some kind of Wi-fi powered by a windmill.

"Musician" is obviously Amish and "Musician" is obviously ignorant! If you aren't already a backyard breader, go visit a puppy mill and see for yourself the conditions these animals are forced to live in. I have 2 rescue dogs. One from the Michael Wolfe confiscation in PA and one from, dare I say it, an AMISH puppy mill in Ohio! They both have life long medical problems as well as psychological problems. After owning one of them for 2 years, I cannot pick her up without her running away from me, cowering in a corner, shaking and relieving herself due to fear. Everyone has a cause. Some may choose to fight the puppy mill industry and others may choose to go after dog fighting rings, while others still choose to go after those who have a cause! You give musicians a bad name

Your rescued dog of 2 years is still in that kind of psychological
condition??!!? What kind of hell is that to force upon a dog? It sounds no better than a puppy mill. I think that people sometimes do what they think is the right thing for what is actually selfish reasons. If your dog is still having these problems, it is obvious that this dog is still being tortured on an everyday basis. I know rescuing the dog was the right thing to do, but obviously this animal is NOT going to adjust.
I am an animal lover myself, but there is a time when we need to make responsible decision in regards to the animals well being. Loving animals doesn't always mean doing what YOU think they need, it's doing what THEY need. And sadly enough, it doesn't always involve these animals going to a home and living happily ever after.
Sometimes animal activism goes too far.
