SCPD knows, underage drinking is rampant on LI, I applaud trying to do something, But is this there once a year showing, are they going to go to the Hamptons and conduct a raid??? I do hope they do more than one and keep it going all year round!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a nice crowd for a Wed nite! If the bar was overcrowded by 180 people, wonder what their legal occupancy limit is? How big is this place?

btw - not bad out of that many people only 'a' person underage.

I was actually there that night and this place was packed with a great crowd. It wasn't at the point where it was unsafe, there was plenty of walking space. And like someone else said, only one underage ain't bad. It was a crowd of mostly 22-25 year olds. Yes underage drinking is rampant on LI but 21 should not be the legal age. If you can go to war at 18 I think you should be able to drink legally. Just my two cents

I never liked the 21 age limit to purchase alcohol. The age of 18 or 19 is better. Every tavern has at least a bartender and usually bouncer that keeps kids in line. As a result of the 21 age, kids are still drinking but in school yards, parking lots, and other places without supervision and where trouble can breed.

Pfc. Matthew Baylis of Oakdale died in Iraq, he was 20.

How could he be old enough to die in a silly war but not old enough to drink?

Silly law

First off to lower the age limit to drink is the stupidest things I have heard of... u think we have problems now with drinking and driving just imagine how many more stories you would read about... Kids these days are to immature and to allow them to have alcohol younger would be a big mistake

Does anyone on Long Island do anything else except drink? It does not surprise me that Long Island has fatal DWI accidents on a daily basis...

That would be interesting having SCPD raiding bars in the hamptons but they do not police the hamptoms. The hamptoms have their own police departments.

The military is VOLUNTARY. I'm so sick of people comparing the two! It's apples and oranges.

Oh yeah? Are you personally coming up here from your hole in NC to conduct age checks at every overcrowded bar?

All of these people including: "Suffolk police officers, community oriented police enforcement units, patrol officers, gang unit and neighborhood enforcement special operations team detectives, Suffolk police K-9 units, the highway patrol selective alcohol fatality enforcement team, state Liquor Authority investigators, and the Brookhaven Town fire marshal".....ALL of these people are needed to go into a bar in MILLER PLACE and write a few violation tickets? What a joke! It's no wonder NYPD officers laugh at the so-called "cops" out here.

You are absolutely right! And the problem is, half of them are owned by cops!

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Aquarius

There simply aren't enough hours in the day today for you to do everything that's on your list, so concentrate on the priorities. Don't feel guilty about what's been left out and start to worry about it. This isn't an easy day because you're feeling pressured and anxious, so don't expect too much from yourself. There's less energy than usual, which doesn't help.
