1 O'Bama will be gone at some point and the pendulum will swing way conservative again thanks to the fickle public. If a long established program proves it stays in state: the feds will have a serious problem enforcing thier laws: it has to enter interstate commerce for them to have legal standing. Law and Order judges have used excuses to permit unconstitutional federal intervention in the past, often based on it being "similar" to interstate business: unless the defendant can prove otherwise (they never could). Set it up now and make it bulletproof against the reactionary element who manipulate and populate the federal machine now to enjoy the healing and yes, recreational, plants God placed on earth for his people to use. |

4 We don't need to add yet another mind-altering drug to the problems we already have on the roadways with drunk drivers. I'll admit I go back and forth on this issue alot, but I still don't like the idea of my neighborhood smelling like a lit up pot farm. And I certainly don't want to get high off secondary smoke from someone else's MJ habit; at least I can't get drunk smelling someone else's alcoholic drink standing nearby. If I am allowed a vote, I will most likely vote against. |

1 What about prescription drugs that cause impairment? Ban them too? Ban things that you don't like the smell of? What about people with bad body odor? Shall we put these people in jail? Maybe you should stop start thinking about your self and start thinking about others. |

2 Prescription drugs taken that cause impairment state directly on the labels that no mechanical operations should take place, etc., or words to that effect. Most law abiding citizens follow their prescription amount dosages and don't have problems such as what you are referring to. If they do experience issues with their prescribed meds, then common sense tells them to work with their docs to get their meds changed or reduced in dosages in order to function better. Bad body odor doesn't impair a driver's ability as alcohol ABUSE and illegal/legal drug ABUSE can and do, unless of course, you may be referring to your own odor and illegal/legal substance abuse issues. Bad body odor isn't as prevalent as illegal drug use either. That's why people can legally purchase and invest in pit spray and cologne/perfume. It's hilarious you are trying to use body odor as an example with your pathetic argument. I am against making marijuana legal b/c of personal experience, family tragedies involving it's use, and for other reasons on top of what was mentioned previously. I, for one, believe it will cause more problems than good for our society. Our country is falling to pieces b/c we are losing our high standards, moral values, ability to set the "good" example, me me me generation, etc. |

1 God also placed snakes with fangs on the Earth, place poison Oak plants as well, but you don't see people jumping in line to get bit by the poisonous snake or waltz through poison Oak and rub it like body lotion either. God also gave us lakes, oceans, and streams, but you don't see people trying to breathe the water, either. God also gave us sharks in the oceans, too, but you don't see masses of people rushing to swim openly with a pool of sharks on a daily basis, do you? Also, God enabled us to take a poop dump, too, but you don't see all people eating it as food for part of their daily food intake. So much for the example argument of using all the things your "God gave us" naturally just for the sake of him doing so; some things are NOT meant to be used and SHOOULD BE avoided by the masses even though these things exist on planet Earth. |

I was referring to persons claim that they did not want to have their neighborhood "smelling" like pot. Sorry to her about the "personal" issues (pot was the ONLY source of this?). So by keeping it illegal you advocate putting people who smoke pot in jail? Does your "religious" convictions have anything to do with this? |

I can see your religion is a deciding factor in this. Do you also think pot smokers should be put in jail? |

6 It was regularly used in cough and cold medicines and eaten, etc. prior to prohibition. Legalization lowers cost and would allow other types of use. Atomization is also very popular now, which is also NOT smoking. Marijuana is no worse than parsley or poppy seeds.

I know the prohibition morons are going to whine and say stupid things like #8.#8 is a big #2. Legalizing pot will actually help solve the "drug problem" by freeing up enforcement so they can go after real drugs. At least until we figure out that profit motivation is the real problem.

So we should put these "evil" pot smokers in jail? |

Ever notice that people who are against pot really never can tell you why? All they ever say is well something bad happened to me, or else they use rhetoric from the 50's and 60's. I don't understand why these people also think that legalizing weed would really change anything for the worse. People who want to smoke it already do people who don't- don't, it is that simple. We just want to change the fact that we are looked at as criminals. If your against legalization because your afraid that kids will use, they already are. Chance are one or more of your neighbors have grass in their homes. A few of them may be growing it and possibly some selling it. Nothing will get worse in fact things would be better. At least with legal weed we could place age restrictions on purchase and consumption. Ask some school kids if it is easier to get weed or alcohol. Alcohol is harder for underage kids to get because the stores selling it ask for I.D. With legal weed we could place restrictions on how much can be grown at any given time. Right now there is no stopping someone from moving in the house right next door to you and growing a thousands plants indoors. With legal weed people could plant the stuff in their backyard and reduce the risk of house fires.
