lunenburg cops should be trained for police chases for someone gets killed round here
It wasn't a police chase. He was responding to a call, but obviously driving fast. I happened to be driving on that road just after the accident. The cruiser looked like it rolled over it had so much damage. The other 2 cars seemed to only have rear end damage so unless they both backed into him..... |

The Telegram says the cop hit both cars. The website has pictures and a witness said the car was pulled over on the side of the road but not far enough over in their opinion and the cop hit them. There were 2 cruisers on route to the call. The first one got past the cars that were pulled over and the second one crashed into them.

Just a hunch, but I'll bet that the officer was not wearing his seat belt. Most patrol officers do not wear them when working due to getting tangled up with their duty belts and sidearms.
God-willing the officer will be fine. |

I drove past the scene after the accident and it was a mess. Cars were being routed through the flea market area. All I could think of when I saw the cars was to pray for all concerned that no one had/would die. The police car was a mess on the left side.

I love how people who come upon an accident make assumptions as to what happened. The officer was doing his duty and thank god will be okay. It was simply an accident of a driver only seeing one of the 2 cruisers responding to a call and pulling out in front of the second cruiser. In attempt to avoid a more serious accident the officer tried to veer around all cars to avoid injury. Get the facts before you comment. Pray for those who are willing to put their lives on the line for us here at home and over seas.

It looked more like an explosion than a crash. I drove by shortly after the fire department had sprayed the foam all over the cruiser and the toyota...both cars looked like they had been blown up. Cops still suck.

Shannon has it the closest. The Cadillac pulled out in front of the police car, (to go around the Camry, which was pulled way over to the side). The officer veered to the right and tried to split the moving Cadillac and the pulled over Camry and slammed into the Camry before hitting the Cadillac. Camry is totaled.
And so don't you......LOSER |
Bet they don't suck when they are coming to your rescue. It is because of people like them. People like you sleep comfortably in bed at night. |

You are free to judge all you want. But chances are that if the second car had a light bar, or more visible lighting this could have been avoided. I am as glad as everyone else to see that the two drivers or cop wasnt seriously injured. But stealthy lighting on a cop car bombing down a busy road is bound to lead to an accident at one point or another.
Only if you are doing something wrong... |
Do you know that they haven't been. This was not a chase but a response to a call. Are you quoting fact?? |
Riiiight. That must be it. Agressive and opressive cops should be applauded...no. while cops provide a necessary service quite often their ego gets in the way as they attempt to bite off more than they can chew. |
All cops do, it's called EVOC. Emergency Vehicle Operations Course. |
Here's a question....who's going to pay for all the damage? The taxpayers of Lunenburg? No doubt the owners of the two civilian vehicles will sue (they should call Butters and Brazillian law offices) as they have every right to so the costs will go WELL beyond just vehicular damage....again, who pays? The officer in question? Doubtful. The department? Doubtful..... the taxpayers? Yeah, let them handle the responsibility for the police department who, if I'm not mistaken, still go by the mantra "TO SERVE AND PROTECT"..... guess not this time boys and girls.....so much for civil SERVICE. NEVER forget, they serve US, NOT the other way around.
Oh yeah...... BAD COP, NO DONUT! If there's any need to layoff an officer in these already tough economic times then I'd say this guy should be first on the chopping block....no room for errors like this when people in Lunenburg are losing their jobs and income. |

My son is a Revere Police officer and they have chases all the time In heavy traffic,,Clogged city streets pedestrians everywhere, not too many accidents due to all the above,,,Lunenburg on the other hand is rural compared to the city so kicking the speed up a step would be normal on these country roads,Ego comes with any uniform,,I think I can still kick my sons ass though,,, I think, or maybe when he,s sleeping,,

nothing to say

I can not believe how thin this article is. Nothing about it being a failed gas station robbery or how the crash could be heard for miles.
The police basically causing this accident and the high speed chase up Pleasant Street by a few officers. The police are lucky they didnt kill anyone in their recklessness on that road, and the accident on Mass Ave |
