"I strongly support single-payer health care as the only viable fix for our society."

I see John, so we can all be equal and all receive sub standard care while bankrupting the entire country?

The usual FauxNews-informed garbage from the rabid right. How is it that many other countries throughout the world have the same set-up and two of them(France and Germany)are ranked No. 1 and 2 in patient care. Please be so kind as to explain this. Why is the United States ranked 37th in the world in patient care?

Raoul, I hope your children were precocious and dexterous. If not, in Kindergarten they might have been held back because they couldn't write 'Gutenpfennigen' in cursive without getting a hand cramp.

That is pretty easy..the report all you lemmings keep quoting is BS...

BTW, I don't watch Fox or listen to Rush....

Do us a favor Alan, go back to self abuse and stay off the forum for a few years or until you come up with something on your own and not this recycled left wing blog crapola.

John,
Nurses are finally getting the pay they deserve and if single payer goes through health care workers pay will eventually dwindle to about a 3rd of what it is now and that will be if you can find a job, hospitals will close. The state now heavily subsidizes their hospitals with current reimbursement rates which will go down if the federal gov't runs the programs.
Say good bye to the country that was the best place on the earth to live the current politicians are selling our greatgrand childrens souls, yours and mine were spent already.

Vietnam, oh yeah, that pointless war that cost us over 50,000 lives. And what did it acheive? Nada. We lost. Same with Korea. Now Iraq will be the same sort of war... pointless, with no achievements, and it looks like Afganistan is heading the same way. The service members do the best they can, and deserve to be honored, but what is with our "leaders?" They keep getting us involved in pointless wars that cannot be won. The last proud war was WWII. Since then, what has the U.S. accomplished through warfare? Oh yeah, we prevented the dreaded "Domino Effect" from taking over the world. Except communism pretty much did itself in. And we saved some college students from disaster (Grenada...what a joke!). We put the Pineapple in jail (Panama). Can't we do better? If we're going to send our military in to harm's way, can't we at least give them a good reason? I mean other than making Bush's and Cheney's buddies rich. Is Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afganistan any closer to being democratic? Billions of dollars and thousands of lives. For what? Someone explain it all to me, because I just don't get it.

These Vets are throw-aways froim military industrial complex and Isrtaeli lobby groups. They served their purpose and are now refuse. It is a horrible situation but that is the way it all works. Ask Bush how much he cared aboutt he men and women he sent into needless wars for IUsraewl, oil and the military arms industry.

Uh, because we have 20 million illegals crowding our emergency rooms so that they receive treatment without paying.

Right on John Chemycz!! Insurance company overhead is 30% of all medical costs while most other developed countries have overhead of less than 10%. And our medical care is worse. Get the profiteering insurance companies out of the system

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Libra

Don't try to do too much at once today or you'll disappear up you know what! You're all fingers and thumbs, accident-prone and things start breaking. It won't help if you're trying to concentrate at work and a certain chatterbox doesn't know when to shut up. Ask them to be quiet but try not to sound shrewish.
