So this nosy rat had them fired but the drug test showed they were not using drugs? So that means the district lost two teachers yet because the accusations are false they received full salaries.

Let's clarify what "headed to work" meant for the two teachers: a day with no students.

six months paid leave whilst the case was being investigated?? if this wasn't a union situation, the findings would've been announced and the teachers would've been fired all PDQ without our tax money going to their paid vacations.

it's taken us a long time to get into this lopsided bureaucratic mess and as long as unions continue to control the strings of our puppet legislators, we'll continue to wonder where all the money disappeared to.

Hope they can move on cleanly.

Absolutely! She should be held liable for false accusations and statements.

The district was burdened with the loss of two teachers because of this nosy Nellie on a day when no students were at school.

The snitch should be forced to pay the county back for those two salaries and the man hours used to investigate this victimless crime.

Meanwhile keep in mind the teachers took their generous pay raise under the contract, but allowed their union to renege on the drug testing procedure they had agreed to, to GET that payn raise.
Before you post, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. Teachers got the raise and agreed to get tested. The reason why testing isn't happening right now is because nobody (DOE or the State) will pay for it. It doesn't have anything to do with HSTA or the teachers. The DOE is saying the State needs to pay for it and the State is saying the DOE needs to pay for it. My techer friend says he is ready and willing to pee in your cup any time, any where.

DOE is OBSCENELY over funded to the tune of almost three BILLION per year. Money is NOT the prob. The union is the wholly owned subsidiary of the dominant party in this state which 'represents' the people in both House and Senate at saturation levels. And both are in cahoots with the corrupt DOE/BOE lashn up. None of these biggies wanted the REPUBLICAN governor to have the last word so they quietly agreed SUB ROSA to simply abrogate that provision of the contract to make the Gov. look weak, helpless and stupid. The good ol boys are keenly aware that election is only 295 days from now and they will stop at nothing to wound Lingle's Lt. Gov. by his association w/ the Gov. And why? Because the LAST they want is ANOTHER GOP governor. Sinking drug testing is just one arrow in their quiver as they will hurl every harpoon they can to win back the Gov. office.
Your post illustrates one of the good things about these forums.
Now we know what most Republicans are thinking (and the Hawaii Free Press- without reading it).

Ok, so why were you trashing the teachers in your previous post when your most current post puts the blame everywhere else? Please figure out who you are upset with...

Let's see, both entered a no-contest plea, which means they were probably found guilty. Then there's the the DOE investigation, which we probably won't know the results of, and were probably not favorable to them. So on what basis are they going to sue the parent? I do feel some of these DOE investigation take much too long. There are some teachers who have been on administrative leave for years. I wonder if anyone knows how many are on ad leave and how much it's costing the State?

Henry Duuuude, you made a boo boo... Nolo contendere (no contest)is a plea made pre-trial, like in, before a trial. If this plea is entered, there isn't any trial and thus, they could not be "found guilty." This plea is usually entered as a part of a plea bargain and though it does cary essentially the same effect as a guilty plea, it has several technical differences.
