"Someone reached at Mahoney's residence said the family had no comment."

What comment would the family have immediately after they lost a husband, son and father?

Show some respect, S&E - what used to be a proud, hometown paper is rapidly becoming trash.

So I suppose the rest of the journalism world is trash as well. Read any article on this topic, its common procedure. Lighten up.

Maybe someone should step up and lead the path to NOT contacting a deceased person's family instead of letting it be "common practice?"

The S&E just wants to get some news on how they feel so the public (maybe even the man's friends) are aware of what had happened..So u people need to shut up..

How do you think they feel, genius. Is it really going to be earthshattering news that they are devastated?

It doesn't take a genius to imagine how the family feels.

As a very good friend of the family, I really don't need one line in the Sentinel based on a quote to figure that out.

As I stare on my deceased friend's body tomorrow evening, I will try to take CSG's advice and lighten up.

I don't like what reporters do BUT we all want to to read it. Who is at fault then?

excuse of "Common Procedure" = an ignorant person
