Whew, can't recall the last time I saw such a tornado of butt-covering and evasion. Good gawd, everybody run for cover and point the fingers elsewhere! A little reality fell on northern Worcester county, look out! Anybody bother to check the nearest bar or his girlfriends house, maybe his mothers? Guys like this seldom plan ahead... Just check his mailing list at the county jail and he'll be at one of those addresses. Lets not panic. Looks like the supervisor of the work detail needs to go -- bye now, see ya -- but the political fall-out ends there. And The Pearl will be busted or turn himself in within a week.

maybe it's me but I would think that if you are a new inmate just a few months into your sentence should he really be allowed to go on a work crew, you would think, and from my experince these guys are usally near the end of thier sentence before they get on a work crew not the begining, i'd say it's the prisions fault and the Sheriff, shouldn't have such a new convict outside working until he has adjusted to the system and go figure he was in for car theft and how did he escape uuummmmm oh yea car theft jacka@#

yeah and the guards that watch these guys are about as useful as the cops that do road details, they pay attention to everything else, except what they are suppose to.............maybe the guard was in on it

just this past week a friend and I were driving past the cemetary up near Whitney Field Mall. There was work detail inside and the officer was sitting in the van reading a newspaper. We both commented about how the guy would know if one escaped. Looking back, maybe we should have called and reported it.

I think you hit it right on the nose cops are too busy reading coffee and talking with girls is see that all the time but they are more worried about going after the kids, driving when ever I see a cop its usually a young kid getting harrased instead of all of the cops should get there priorities right maybe try looking for the the one who took off from work detail. getting sick of them not wanting to do the job they are paid to do. I give up.

What I don't get is why these inmates take off when they only have a few months left to their sentence...Why not just finish the time because now this jerk is going to get more time added to his sentence...It never has made any sense to me...

Having inmates working near a school with kids is such a GREAT IDEA!

Didn't think of that...You're right...The school right there with prisoners only a few feet away...Not a good idea at all...
