If the owner is so involved in gymnastics and prides herself of the type of gymnysts she has trained over the years, how could she not know about his past? She should have been able to find out that information easily. If I were a parent with kids at that center I would be pulling them out in a heartbeat.

Now he is being charged? What a joke.

You are assuming the owner cares more about the safety of the children than making money. You would be amazed at what people are willing to overlook(I mean not see) as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Sounding to me like she should be brought up on charges for aiding a sexual preditor.

It is clear she was in for the money and not the safety of the children. She does deserve to be brought up on charges and the parents deserve a refund from any classes their kids took with him.

Once again, a trusted adult in a prime position to be in constant contact with children turns out to be a sexual predator.

When our family dentist announced this year that new health and privacy laws required parents to be out of the room during dental exams (according to him, aerosolized saliva from my own child is a health risk), I said "H*ell No you're not going to exclude me from an exam room!" and when he refused to budge, we took our files and went somewhere else.

Without being paranoid, it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY as parents to keep our children safe. Be suspicious. Talk to your kids in age-specific language about what abuse is and keep talking to them about their interactions with others older than they.

Mr. Infante has worked at the gym in Newington a lot longer than 1 month, he has been coaching there for a long time. This report is incorrect. He coached my daughter and was well liked. We were never told that he was banned from USAG events due to 1990 allegations - I am floored by all of this.

Of course the gym owners knew about this man. The think by saying that they made the wrong judgement by not sharing the news with the gym is acceptable. Steven.Infante started working at the gym almost 5 years ago. In all those years they didnt think he needed to know the information about this man. Yes, There are a few that have left but us parenst are so confused as what to do. He is no longer in the gym, do we accept the apologies and stay. Or trust out gutts and leave now as if she could keep this from us what else is she not sharing. We keep praying that no girls were affected in our gym but one doesnt know.
Is what she did acceptable. We say not but other stay with her and accept that she was honest with her apologies. Help us mom to understand.. I want to run as another one has already but she is being blackballed and we are afrais they will do the same to us. Help

It is a good reason to leave ! Why Stay? Why support this gym, these gym owners no of him, some refused to work with him because of his desire for young female gymnasts. Some didn't even care, like Ditulliio, who promoted it. Although he was banned from USAG events, he has been seen at these events since. USAG is a joke, they should be held responsible as well. Take your kids and not walk, but run away from this gym. There are more victims !

Why did the USAG not inform parents? They had to have seen him at these events. It was their duty to inform the parents of this, since the owner was basically refusing to do so. They are just as much to blame.

If your daughter is a usag member then every month or so a usag magazine comes to your house. Inside some of those magazines is a little article that states all of the people bannned from the organization. You can also go online and look it up. It's not your fault! That coach definatly knew of his past. USAG did their part....Which to me is not enough, but it is online and it is in the magazine that your daughter gets, so this information was available to you. Then again, why would you ever think that the owner of a gym would put these children in harms way, you wouldn't think that.

Oh, your welcome, I guess you can count your blessings for not having to wonder if anything happened to your child.

I'm confused! What do you mean by blackballed? My advise would be to listen to your gut, or listen to your daughter, although chances of her saying something now are slim. Look at the history of this case. Women talking about their childhood coach, not children talking about their coach. Your gut is usually right. NEGX is a very successful gym, but at the end of the day, year and her career, gymnastics is just gymnastics, she will always be your child! I'm sure the coach is sorry, but if you had confronted her about this before the news came out, I wonder what her response would have been. Would she have been more loyal to you the customer or this guy, the child molester? I guess we will never know the answer...or do we?

Thank You.

We have now decided NEGX is the wrong place to teach our chilren the morals that we have. You are right at the end of the day, who have we had our children with. This Coach is someone WE can NEVER trust again. How could she have even put us in a situation like this. WE are sickend over it and we are glad we have made our decision to move on.

We already know the answer. She was more loyal to the coach. She did not care about the safety of the children otherwise she would not have hired him.

Take all your kid out of there, all of these coach's knew of his past. The good coach's stayed away from these men, because they knew what they have done. When this trial starts, I think alot of you will be more shocked than you already are ! It's scary.
