Cops shut down cash for gold

A Fairfield man was offering cash for gold at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn, but the one thing he didn't have was the proper permit, police said.

Why, Oh Why, is the Police Log the ONE and ONLY place on the online CTPost where a reader can post comments? This (lack of being able to post comments) has been the case for 2+ weeks. And as par for the course, the CTPost FAILED to offer its online readers an explanation for the change, as well as giving any notice that they were going to implement it. Well the "experiment" a few months back of having to post comments via Facebook feel flat on its face, and I can only guess that was because it was VERY poorly received by the online readership; that also was instituted without notice, and withdrawn without notice. There's nothing like having a world class newspaper (online or hard copy) for the Greater Bridgeport Area!!!!!!!!!!

This is a poor way of selling your unwanted gold as they never give you the full value.Usually the people are selling because they have stolen it or are desperately in need of money and will take what is offered.

Selling gold or silver to people like this almost guarantees you won't get what its really worth. Go to a reputable jeweler, one that you know and trust, or go to the diamond exchange in New York. These fly by nights are a bunch of rip-offs that cash in on people's hardships, I wouldn't trust any of them.

Hello AVA, I do not have a solution to the very long ongoing problem. If some one called another person via phone or other unwanted communication, the local police should be informed and an arrest can be made for harassment. Hope this helps..

PS Maybe I'm NOT looking in the right "area" of the online CTPost, but I haven't seen any kind of a registration "system" to post comments. In any event, IF I've overlooked it, as well as the Topix alternative, I would imagine that a very large number have as well. Looks like you will be quite busy for a good long while getting the word out. Keep up the good work!

Yes it has started the requirement to register your e mil You have to click on a story and the registration pops up I have done it already..This blog has nothing to do with the post or Hearst corp they have already printed this.
