Don't waste your time!

We contacted them three weeks after the May 1st flood because we had sustained property damage and needed their type of service.

A man came out (I think his name was Josh) he inspected the damage and told me that he needed to come back with another employee in order to give me an estimate, but they NEVER returned. That's been MORE than four months ago!

I called and asked what the delay was. They immediately began apologizing and told me that they had forgotten all about it! I was told that they had more work than they could handle.

I left a message for the owner to call me back, I've never gotten that return call either.

I hate to send business to Jackson, but in this situation I think it's more than justified.

Cornerstone Restoration told me themselves that they have more work than they can handle.

I hope this helps. What I've told you is NOT gossip. It's what we experienced firsthand.

If you need restoration work, call West TN Restoration out of Jackson. They do excellent work and deal directly with your insurance company. You want to talk with John Byrum at WTR.

If you just need a general contractor, one of the best around is John Hopper Construction, out of Medina. He's a good person to deal with too.

The economy put the weaker contractors out of business, so the pickings are slim.

As for my family and our experience Cornerstone Restoration did a fantastic job on our house. They were there from start to finish and did an excellent job. Im pretty sure they are at times overwhelmed but that just means business is going great. They did a very professional job and my family would recommend them to anyone looking for someone to do work on their home.

I have never heard anything but positive things about CRC.

In fact, the director at the hospital here in Milan, spoke extremely highly of them at one of the Milan Rotary Meetings. They also are the Mold Remediation Contractor for the City of Jackson for the next 5 years! These are some of the buildings that CRC has done water and mold work on:

- City Hall in Jackson
- Milan General Hospital
- Oman Arena
- Fire Station in Bradford, Jackson
- Trinity Christian Academy
- 4 or 5 buildings at Bethel University
- Jackson Police Department
- Gibson County Jail
- Trenton Health Department
- Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church in Humboldt
- Harbour Freight Tools in Jackson
- Tree's N Trends

And the list goes on and on.. So if the City of Jackson and all of these other entities trust them, I don't see why you shouldn't.

Most of all, they are a Christian company. They will do whatever is necessary to make a home owner happy. Their owner Brian is a great guy and I know personally several of their management. Josh, Alex, Scotty, etc.. They are all real good guys and they believe in giving guys second chances. I believe the list above speaks for itself on what kind of work they do.

Margie,
I wanted to address your comments. I will first say, I am sorry for your experience that you had with our company, as everyone can attest the May floods caused a lot of strain on everyone, including our company. We tried our best, at times I employed 55 workers to keep up with the jobs, there were just some jobs that we couldn't get to, apparently yours was one of them. Your our entitled to your opinion and I respect that, I would like to point out that we were able to successfully handle over 60 jobs during this disaster and would point to Milan General Hospital as an example of the type of work that we do. I do business in Milan, employ folks from Milan, and support numerous functions that directly benefit our city. I always like to say, "It's not how you start, but how you finish", you are more than welcome to call me, and I will call you back, or just stop in and see us at our main office.

Thanks,

Brian,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post on Topix. I wish our conversation had taken place in person or over the phone as I had requested, but I suppose this medium is as good as any.

I'll be the first to acknowledge that our hospital should've received top priority in terms of repair. Their need was paramount. I'm not an unreasonable person. I knew that your company and those like it would be bombarded with business after the flood. That's why I waited nearly a month before I made the initial call to Cornerstone.

Josh came to my home and inspected my crawlspace. He left without giving me an estimate. He explained that he needed to come back with another employee then he'd be able to give me an estimate for repairs, but I never heard back from Josh or anyone else.

I waited three weeks before I called your business to find out what was going on. I was given Josh's cell number. When I called the first words out of his mouth were, "I'm so sorry. I totally forgot! We've been slammed and I forgot. I'll be there tomorrow." Brian, that's been three months ago and I've never seen or heard from anyone else associated with Cornerstone.

I felt like my job wasn't large enough (Milan General Hospital etc.) for you all to be concerned with. When I called initially if the person I spoke with had been honest and told me out right that you all were too busy to take on additional work I would've taken my business elsewhere. I wasted weeks on end waiting for return calls and an additional inspection that never happened.

I patron local business whenever possible, but I don't think I should have to chase a company down in order to give them my business.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my concerns.

I couldn't agree with your slogan more. Sadly, Cornerstone never successfully started anything with us so we could see how they finish.

I patron local business whenever possible, but I don't think I should have to chase a company down in order to give them my business.

WOW..."Josh" is a great guy and can't believe you would put this on a forum for everyone to read. Have you ever forgotten something "Margie H", did they run your name down on Milan Topix? I can't believe people use this site as such a negative tool to hurt people. Let's try uplifting people instead of making them look like an idiot on Milan Topix. Josh and Cornerstone were so busy during the May floods that he probably just made an honest mistake in not calling you back. It was never the case of your work not being big enough for him or Brian's company. Im sorry this has happened to you but Josh is a stand up guy and really means well and would never just not call you back because he picks and chooses his jobs.
I have never commented on any forum but this touches home.

Crystal,

With all due respect, it was never my intention to disrespect anyone (much less Josh) on this site. The communication problems I experienced with Cornerstone weren't a onetime deal. I left multiple messages and to date (almost four months later) NONE of those calls have ever been returned, including messages I left for Mr. Eubnaks. I'm still waiting on Josh and his employee to return to my home for the second inspection he told me we needed. I've never gotten an estimate because that second inspection was never done.

I never intended to use Topix as a means to air my discontent, but when another Milan resident asked for information about Cornerstone I felt compelled to tell them my experience.

When Brian Eubanks replied to my post, I took the opportunity to explain our situation to him. Since he is the owner, I felt certain that he would want to know who we dealt with. That's why I used Josh's name. That is the ONLY reason I used his name. Mr. Eubanks needs to know that there are communication failures happening within his business (NOT just Josh, but with office staff too) so he can make necessary adjustments to overcome those problems.

Finally, If you'll re-read my post to Mr. Eubanks you'll see that I'm NOT an unreasonable person. In total I waited six weeks to get a return call from Cornerstone. As of today October 7, 2010 I've yet to receive any.

Sorry to have upset you by my post, but this was our experience.

This post doesn't require a reply, but I wanted to let everyone know that whoever this person is "Luke" obviously has no clue about our company. Every employee is drug tested before employment, and then randomly throughout the year to meet Tennessee Drug-Free guidelines. I find it very amusing that whoever this "Luke" is would post this non-sense, as he appears to be so intelligent. As for the rest of the post, I guess it doesn't apply to us, as it makes no sense.
