Who are you to judge? Only God can judge. We are all humans. We all sin. Whatever he does or does not do is nobody's business. It is between him and God. I have been to that church several times and he is the best preacher I have ever seen. Maybe you should go check it out sometime before you judge. God bless you!

I don't know anything about the gambling, etc. I would say if that is true the leaders of the church need to address that. RJF, I agree we all sin, but what he does is our business. He along with other Christians are to set an example for others to follow. I have just heard several comments about what they are doing to parade the ppl into their church. I personally think it is not right. The Bible tells us how to live, how to worship and how to become a Christian and stay on the right path. Just wondered if they were following or making their own rules.

I am not trying to trash anyone, I just wondered what was going on. You don't see that kind of attendance at other churches and wondered what made the difference.

I am sorry. It was not my intention to imply that you were. I meant the people who get on here and be so negative and mean toward people.

God makes the difference I have been going there for almost 5 years now and there have been very few times that I can say that I have walked in and not felt HIS presence. The people on here that are trying to trash my preacher will have to answer for the things they have done and said to and about him. The thing that really irritates me is they can not even put a name with their post. If they are that sure of what they are saying they would not be ashamed. As for him being confronted about all the rumors and hear say that has happened and we as a church have agreed to stand behind our preacher because he has done nothing wrong.

Truth why dont you get yourself a pulpit then and preach the GOSPEL. You stinking devil. The end result in all of this is people die and go to hell. Why dont you do something constructive and go and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, if you are not going to do that then I rebuke you, like you probably have already been rebuke several timeS ALREADY. One last thing WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!: )

GOD IS WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. Temples pastor preachs in a way we all get it and we are on fire for the LORD! "It's All About Him"!!!!!!!!! Now get out and tell people about JESUS. People are dying and going to hell so stop the negativity and invite someone to church. SPREAD THE GOSPEL

I dont even go to Temple, but i can tell God is using the people at Temple. All I hear is tell people about jesus wish our church was more about reaching others. I heard 118 people saved in a week. that is fantastic. Maybe I ll be there Sunday to see this sinning Preacher being used by God, that gives me hope that God may just use me too. Truth He can use you too

I posted this on facebook...may as well post it here too. In my opinion this is why Temple Baptist Church is growing.

As much as I love Bro. Matt I love our God more. Its a simple statement but one that is true and as it should be. Because I say "I ♥ my pastor" does not mean that I am idolizing him. It simply means that I'm letting the pastor of my church know that I appreciate him. Because I praise him on a well spoken, stepped on my toes sermon does not mean that I am giving the glory to speaker and not God. I believe people should be given "atta boys". Its a job well done.

I did not join Temple in January because of Bro. Matt. Yes, I was impressed with Bro. Matt the first day that I met him. It was the day that Brian Shackelford died. One phone call and he was there within an hour for Dawn. I thought at that time....this man is not only a preacher but a pastor. He also came back that afternoon and spent about an hour talking to Noah who had just lost the only father figure he had ever had. His “pastoring” made me want to come see him preach. When I did, I loved what I heard. He was a sinner, just like me.

After being ignored in the past by pastors of more than one church, it was nice to have a pastor that was approachable. Bro. Matt and I have texted more conversations that I ever spoke to another pastor. It wasn't a case of who I was, what I drove, what job I had. I'm just me...a member of Temple. So you see its easy for me to say "I love my pastor".

I joined Temple because of the people of Temple. I loved the fact that someone walked across the church to welcome us there the first morning we visited. I loved the way my son was welcomed by the leadership and was not and has not to my knowledge been made fun of by the youth. I looked around and saw the majority of the membership joining together working in the church and not just a few doing that majority of the work. I have enjoyed Sunday school from the first day and have learned. There were many reasons for me wanting to join Temple just not Bro. Matt.

It amazes me that someone can say that Temple is not about God's business and that its not "all about Him". We're here to reach people and bring them to God. We do not ask people to join the membership of Temple when they are saved. That is not the point of the invitation. The point of the invitation is to invite you to accept the Lord as your Savior. Simple. We are sending buses out to anyone that wants to come to church and not just one side of town.

I have come to love this church and have lost sleep, cried tears and have seemed to be in constant prayer over the last weeks. I will fight for my church but more importantly I will stand united for the Glory of God.

Since posting this on facebook, I have just gone through a week of Vacation Bible School at Temple. It was one of the most amazing weeks of my life. To see teenagers that would rather be in church than out on the town on a Friday night was amazing. To hear little voices saying the sinner's prayer filled my heart.

I invite you to join us this week at Temple Baptist Church. Sunday school begins at 9:30 with Worship following at 10:30.

“So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”(John 8:7)

This might be a long post but read it… it will be worth it. You will notice that I use GODS WORD…. The BIBLE to back up what I am about to say.

I would first like to point out that any person, Christian or not, who thinks they can point a finger at someone else’s flaws/mistakes/sins and think they are justified in doing so is simply mistaken/misguided/delusional. The BIBLE says that we are ALL sinners.(Romans 3:23) The BIBLE also tells us that no sin is greater than another sin. If you break one commandment you have broken them all! Murder is the same as lying. Adultery is the same as stealing and so on in Gods eyes. This is what the BIBLE teaches us.(James 2:10)

I find it very troubling that there are Christians on this message board pointing fingers at other Christians telling each other how wrong the other one is for whatever he/she has said about another person. What does the Bible say our sole purpose on this earth once we are saved is? Anyone? It’s to lead other SINNERS to Christ and to His SAVING GRACE! Why are we bickering about whose church has a sinner for a pastor? News flash: EVERY CHURCH HAS A SINNING PASTOR! This is what the BIBLE teaches us!

Did you know that the Bible, Gods own words, is chalked FULL of stories about how God uses SINNERS (some who would be considered social outcasts in today’s society) for His glory? Moses murdered someone (Exodus 2:11-12), Elisha summoned two bears out of the woods to eat 42 children (II Kings 2:23-24), David, a man who God admitted was after His own heart, was an adulterer and murder (2 Samuel 11:1-4), and the list can go on and on if you want me too. Dare we say any of these men should not be leading others to Christ? Men who were after Gods own heart and men who shaped what we know today as “Christianity?” I would speculate that no one would say that these men were not GREAT men of God despite their many flaws and sins. Am I comparing Matt Moore to these men? No, what I am saying is that Temple Baptist Church is on to something. They preach strictly the BIBLE… nothing more and nothing less. There is leadership in that church that reaches out and wants to help YOU become a better Christian and most importantly they want to fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION which is the ONLY thing that matters once we are saved (Matthew 28:16-20.)

So far today we have learned that EVERYONE sins no matter who you are or how good you think you have been. We have learned that God indeed uses sinners to extend His kingdom and for His own glory. We have learned that once we are saved we should not tear down other Christians and churches with our so called justified reasons, actions, or words but instead should be spending EVERY ounce of our energy trying to reach a world that is dying and going to HELL because WE ARE TOO BUSY FUSSING AT EACH OTHER!!!
The truth is this. When a church or a Christian starts to do something right… Satan wants to stop it quick. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the REASON Temple Baptist keeps getting brought up here on this forum is because WE ARE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT FOR GOD! The devil is smart, and he knows what he is doing. So are we as CHRISTIANS, from Temple, Chapel Hill, FAM, etc going to let the devil win? Or are we going to fight the devil and lift each other up even though we all KNOW that every one of us is a sinner and help each other out in any way we can to reach a lost and dying world? Hell is real! This is no time for stupid games. This is a time for standing up for OUR God! I said OUR GOD! Not Temples God, not Chapel Hills God, not First Assembly of Milans God… because WE ALL SERVER THE SAME GOD! And by serve I mean we are trying our best to reach the lost… not tear other churches and Christians down.
