Ever heard of Elam McKnight? He is from this area. Played all over the country and in Europe. Does blues and rock mostly. I had his album Supa Good and the guitar on it is pretty Freaking awesome.

He is pretty awesome, but I wouldn't call him influential. My vote would have to go to Carl Perkins as the most influential.

The Best guitar player is Ronnie Bates SR. from Trenton, Tn. He lives in the Trenton Housing. He has a natural talent. If he would of left the alcohol alone he would of made it very big. He is a very humble soul...
Back in the day, he played for the Ventures.

There's a guy from Dresden named Dave who is prob one of the best finger style players you'll ever hear. Classical trained. He makes acoustical guitar sound like a grand piano.
