Actually, this is a preventive for going in a corn field. If you live near a corn field, make your children watch this movie.

Dear Nicole. Even inside a house a parent cannot always be on watch. What happens if a child gets up in the middle of the night, plays with the curtain cords and manages to strangle themselves? Is the parent an ignorant piece of trash then for not having kept watch? Is that negligence? There are 5 or 6 children all running around - can you keep your eye on each and every one constantly? If you can I applaud you. And what makes you think a funeral home director is HAPPY about having to prepare a child's body to be lowered into the ground? Don't you think that possibly they are there because they feel the ned to offer respect and dignity to those that have passed on? Nicole - I hope that when you pass on, you are treated with more respect than you show.
Yes, that person is also an ignorant piece of trash. Any moron knows the dangers of curtain cords if their is a child in the house who is so young he/she would not be able to become disentangled. Accidents truly happen, and children die from them. It's heartbreaking. However, pushing a younger child off on her siblings who are not responsible enough to watch her, and she ends up lost in a cornfield is no accident. It's preventable, and the parent chose not to take due measure to protect their child from harm. Not to mention the horrendous guilt and psychological damage it would have done to the siblings had the child died. Paint me evil all you want, but I'm not the one who thinks it's OK to let their child run around as if it's a stray cat.

Glad they found her, but why is a girl lost in a cornfield, national news?

Because of the hundreds of people that came together in the middle of the night at a moments notice.
