Ohio mom puts sign in yard to blast school after son deemed ineligible to play football

An Ohio mother who says her son got a raw deal from his middle school's football program has put her feelings on a marquee-style sign in her yard.

Give her the money back. That school didnt do their work and let him join by mistake.

Everyone seems to miss the point. He was ineligible, not removed from the team. He was still allowed to practice with the team, just not allowed to play on game days. He would have missed 4 of the 6 games. A notice was sent home which the mother admittedly disregarded. Why should they have to pay her? Because she doesn't read the mail? She got her son a $10 physical. I think that's a pretty good deal. Take some responsiblity Mom, it's not always someone else's fault.

The school did not make a mistake. Just because you ineligible, you are still allowed to be of the team and practice. You just can't play in the games. That is an OHSAA rule. Why should the school pay for the students cleats and a physical which every child should have yearly?

Ms Ortner should have known what her son's grades were and checked to see her if son was eligble to play or not. BEFORE he attended weight training, got a physical,or purchased cleats.

This woman is a joke and an embarassment to Berlin Heights, maybe you should find some time to help you son study instead of posting signs in your yard that are nothing but a hazard for me and my family as other inconsiderate motorists are trying to read instead of watching the road, and believe me I am not the only one with this opinion, you've made quite a fool of yourself.
