I agree with you Ann but also really have no skills when it comes to big dogs either. She wants to treat your animal with harsh prescriptions and not even look into holistic remedies. We pulled all our animals out of Animal Care Hospital in Lewisburg just because they so not have the skill level as our current vet has...What people should do is if they are looking for a new vet is to “shop" around and visit facilities such as Animal Care Hospital. Meet the vets there and get to know them. Remember that your animals are not just animals they are part of your family....

I was not in the office this week. I had a relief vet covering. I am very sorry for your experience.

Was there today and had a great experience. Was even complimented for the care of our Lab that lost ten pounds nearing her optimal weight!

Thanks for the great customer service!

We have brought our beloved Boxer to Dr. Hopkinson since she was a puppy and have had nothing but amazing experiences. I agree the relief vet was not the greatest but that was not this team. Dr. H is amazing, kind hearted loving and a true assett to the profession. She is always receptive to our concerns and works with us to develop a plan of care that is optimal not only for our dog but also works within the needs of our family as well. The staff at ACH treat my dog with the best skills and altogether a very happy group of people. I love this hospital and this vet; we've since moved and I now drive 40 minutes to keep my dog with Dr. H and the team. The peace of mind and the high quality is worth it.

I have a cat with allergies to just about every drug out there and Dr. Hopkinson has been extremely careful and wonderful in her treatment. I always feel like Dr. Hopkinson is always 'present' and empathetic. It is clear that she cares deeply about the health of her clients and I feel fortunate to have her as a vet. She is a wonderful vet.

I have five cats and two dogs and have always received wonderful care from this office. We have been going there for 12 years now. They are concerned, kind, and personable and do whatever they can to ensure that my pets get the best treatment possible. If they feel that I need to consult a specialist, they suggest it. When one of my pets had to be put down due to kidney disease, I received a sympathy card from everyone in the office. They always call within a day or two of a visit to see how the patient is doing. I can't imagine anyone every saying that Dr. Hopkins isn't personable. She is one of the most personable people I have ever met and caring. I travel 30 minutes to go there even though there is a vet five minutes from my house.

I must say that I am shocked by some of these comments. Dr. Hopkinson and the entire office has always been great to my two dogs and to me as well. I have lived in other states and I have been to many other vets. One of my dogs even has her own knee surgeon in Oakton, VA. So I've experienced many vets...good and bad. Dr. Hopkinson is the first one that I feel really takes the time to check over my dogs and talk with me. As for being holistic, finding holistic vets is tough. When you go to your own family dr do they first go the holistic routs? Most will say no. My two dogs are both old now with a lot of issues including one dog with extreme allergies to food, grass, etc. and another dog that has had two knee replacements and neurological issues. I completely trust Dr. Hopkinson with my furkids. I also take responsibility and do my own research on my pups issues and I try to work as a team with my vet. I feel like owners should be educated as well. So there is no reason that people can't walk into their vet with holistic or other information and work together for the best care of their family members. I think Dr. Hopkinson is a great resource and would recommend her to anyone.

I can only surmise that most of the positive comments here are from staff members. Jennifer was not good with our dog, and seemed to only care about prescribing the most expensive treatment, and running up our bill. Our dog only improved after switching vets. This profession should be more about providing necessary care for our animals, and less about padding your wallet.

(by the way, Orijen - Blue - Canidae are all better than the pet food that she stocks...)

I find that every time I go to animal care I end up leaving with a lot less money in my bank account - they are very expensive .... don't even think about getting your dogs teeth cleaned. A human can go to the dentist 5 times and still walk away with less of a bill than they charge me for one cleaning!!!! really 500 bucks to have a 5lb dogs teeth cleaned come on really?????

Today was our first visit to ACH. I must say, I am very impressed with the care we received. The staff and Doctor took the time to answer all my questions and really gave our new puppy a thorough assessment.

It has come to my attention that recently 5 members of the staff at Animal Care Hospital have left within the last 2 weeks. Most of these employees were senior staff members that have devoted many years of their life to his business. I am not one of these employees but I knew many of these girls as they took excellent care of my pets over the years. What would cause 5 WONDERFUL members of a staff to leave within 2 weeks? As I think about it, over the years many staff members have left and when asked where they were , we were told things such as " they felt it was time to move on" or " they wanted to spend more time with their family. Perhaps we were told that they retired or wanted a job closer to home. At any rate those reasons all ring false now. What reasons will we be told now that 5 members who we all knew and trusted are no longer there. It makes me wonder who will be caring for our pets now? Is Animal Care Hospital's staff that remains up to the task of giving the care we demand for our pets. I also learned that the owner once told the staff that "they were all replaceable." I say "good luck trying to replace them." The caring and compassion that these girls had is not something that can be replaced .I am beginning to wonder if Animal Care should consider changing their name since they obviously don't care about their staff or the care that the clients will now be receiving. No business can lose that many employees that quick and still provide excellent care . I have decided to take my pets to a vet that treats their employees better. One last comment I have, It was also said by Dr Hopkinson that she has "one loyal employee". That is good to know because the way the staff is leaving , there will soon only be 1 employee.

Dr. Hopkinson and her husband are flushing this business down the toilet which is such a shame because Dr. Gora worked so hard to build it up. Where are all the employees going, 5 in two weeks tell me that something is terribly wrong with this practice. It's time to turn it over to Doctors who know how to run it and our a little more respectful of employees. I will be taking my animals elsewhere.
where are the techs going

Where are all the technicians going? When I went in the other day and asked the front desk people they said they were no longer with us and have found other job opportunities. When I questioned further they wanted to get Dr. Hopkinson or the so called "manager" Mike. I don't want to talk to them I want to talk to the technicians I'm used to seeing when I walk in there. Dr. Mildrew was a great Dr. And I will be taking my animals to ACC to see her.

My special friend and neighbor went to ACH. I also bring my pets there. My friend expressed to them how they would mess up when she called in. Also, how no one there would take responsibility at ACH for their mistakes. A guy Mike talked to my fiend and I gather he is the husband of Dr. Hopkins. This guy was rude and never apologized for all their screw ups. My friend asked questions and since they would screw things up, only wanted to talk to the Vet. This guy Mike, now had banned my friend from going there and had her post deleted from this site. My friend calls it non professional actions and words from this guy. Three of my neighbors take their pets there and now they aren't happy how my friend was treated. I think all of us will go to another vet. It's a no wonder why so many are leaving. Always heard Lewisburg vet Hospital is a lot better anyway. I guess that guy Mike who is so rude will get this post taken down like he did with my friends.

My experience with them wasn't so great. About a year ago I realized after a few visits with my special baby, money was their main concern. haven't been back there since and never will.

Rooms are too small and anytime I'm in there they are disgusting with cobwebs and mold in the corners of the rooms. I can just imagine what it looks like where they perform surgery. I don't get the same welcoming feeling there anymore and all they are concerned about is money. Finding a new vet for my fur babies
they do not care

The Hopkinson's should not be owners of animals let alone a business. They do not care about employees even when their employees put their heart and soul into it. Can't believe Anna was fired because of the Hopkinson.
