EPD cancelled the meeting. No surprise there. Justs adds to the unprofessional attitude of the Environmental PERMIT Division

They are here to protect work with them not against them they know whats right. Maybe if there weren't so many people to create that waste water we wouldn't have this problem. But imagine telling your kids or grandchildren they should not reproduce. HA that's the real problem and it will only get worse look how many new plants have popped up in the past 20 yrs and will keep popping up as growth occurs. Who keeps those plants in check? Thats right the EPD does. The waters are cleaner than they were and there are more people than ever so they must be doing something right, and its not just major industry that does cause the problems its the average joe and his giants suv/4x4. Well stop pooping and then we shouldnt have this problem anymore

Thanks for the correction M I but the word "Permit" was intentionally inserted to infer that they do not protect, they issue permits.
No one knows better than I that the rank and file of the entire Department of Natural Resources with their seperate divisions such as the EPD and the Coastal REsources Division are for the most part hard working dedicated individuals.
What is also common knowledge is that they are terribly underfunded and unable to fulfill the damands made of them by law and by their own mission statements. They work miracles with very little and re certainly to be commended for that but the real truth is that the DNR needs the help of the public to cause their political bosses to do the right thing where funding is involved.
In example, the DNR has a total of four enforcement officers to cover the hundred mile stretch of the Georgia coast. In that hundred mioles is over three thousand miles of shore line. don't you think they could use a little help?
The situation with the proposed wwt plant in Liberty Copunty is not about the people in the EPD it is about the system that has failed the people of Georgia in many more ways than you can count.
An environmental impact study done by a civil engineer out of Florida that is publically porven to be a complete bogus instrument is not a laughing mater or one to be brushed under the table. We are asking for exactly what Georgia law requires, that a real environmental impact study be done by competent scientists to determine the potential for damage or lack of it if the plant in question is allowed to be brought on line.
Anyone in their right mind without personal gain involved would want the same thing considering the facrt that we are talking about a very important eco-system that has a direct effect on both marine life all the way deep into the Atlantic Ocean along with shore life.
