PLease do not judge this father. I personally know him and work with him and this is a sad tragedy. No amount of punishment that the law may want to give him can every be more than the guilt that he will live with for the rest of his life. He and his family need all the love and support they can possibly recieve. THe rest of us may not be able to comprehend "why or how...." but this was not an intentional action. PLease be strong and know that we are here for you.

What kind of idiot forgets he has his infant son in his car....and forgets to drop him at daycare; then leaves him in the car all day with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees day after day? He should be removed from society for good. That little boy died a miserable death. His worthless father should suffer the same fate. Now the bleeding hearts have something else to respond to.....and consider. How does Kellum know this was not intentional? If the criminal justice system does its job, this turkey will be sent off to TDC.....feeling guilty the rest of his sorry life is NOT adequate punishment for what this so-called father did, or did not do. His worst nightmare would be for me to end up on his jury.

What kind of bleeding heart are you? The facts speak for themselves. There is NO explanation, or justificaton, for this man's pitiful performance as a father, the one person on this earth who should have been protecting and seeing to this child's safety and welfare. He needs to be locked up for the rest of his miserable life.

I also know this individual, and he is in his own horrible place right now. I do not beleive this to be intentional. He Loves his children. This is a man who has done a lot for children in this community. There are many hearts hurting today. I know it is easy to throw words around, but let this family deal with this horrible situation. Yes his life is changed, along with many others (more than you will ever know), so please do pray for him and his family.

I understand how easy it must be for you to sit back and pass judgement on this man because I use to support your beliefs. I wondered how "some idiot could forget his/her kid". Now that I am on the other side of this story and personally know this man...I wonder how I could be such an idiot to so quickly pass judgement and hope God will forgive me for those I have judged. If you only knew this man and could see him talk about how wonderful his children are and how terrific his wife is you would be asking yourself the same question. He is a wonderful person who holds down two jobs to support his family and is guilty of forgeting one of the most important pieces of his life, in a fast paced world. I was not with him that morning nor were you so how can we pass judgement on him. We do not know how his routine might have been disrupted.
It reminds me of the following story in the bible:
According to the Gospel of John, the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Jesus, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied,“He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences that they departed. When Jesus found himself alone with the woman, he asked her who were her accusers. She replied,“No man, lord.” Jesus then said,“Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.”
If you have never forgotten anything that was very important nor never made a terrible mistake...then go ahead stone him otherwise judge not less you be judged for the mistakes you have made. May God Bless the Flanagans and may he comfort them and help them overcome this tragedy. May God also be compassionate to all of you who sit in judgement of this man. I pray you never have to suffer through anything like this.

I DONT KNOW THIS MAN, BUT HE IS A FRIEND OF MY FAMILY. BUT I AM A MOTHER OF 5, AND KNOW HOW CRAZY LIFE CAN GET. NO, THAT ISNT A REASON FOR LEAVING A DEFENSLESS CHILD IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW HECKTIC THINGS CAN BE. IT IS NOT OUR PLACE TO JUDGE ANYONE FOR ANYTHING. WE CANT IMAGINE WHAT HE IS GOING THRU AT THIS TIME TONIGHT. AND WHEN YOU WRITE THINGS LIKE YOU DO, HOW DO YOU THINK HIS WIFE AND FAMILY MUST FEEL WHEN THEY READ THESE THINGS? NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OR FEEL, YOUR WORDS CANT HURT HIM ANYMORE THAN HE HAS HURT HIMSELF, SO SAVE THEM FOR SOMEONE WHO DESERVES THEM. AND JUST THANK GOD THAT YOU STILL HAVE YOUR CHILDERN. WE SHOULD PRAY FOR PEOPLE IN NEED, NOT BASH THEM WHEN THEY ARE DOWN. HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF AN AMERICAN? WE ARE IN A CRAZY WORLD RIGHT NOW, AND YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THEN SIT AROUND AND TALK ABOUT A MAN WHO LOST HIS SON? NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED. ONLY GOD AND THE FATHER. SO UNTIL YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE TWO, KEEP YOUR IGNORINT COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. YOUR OPINION DOESNT MATTER ANYWAY. HE WILL STAND IN FRONT OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ONE DAY AND HAVE TO FACE WHAT WILL HAPPEN. HE DOESNT NEED ANYONE ELSE JUDGING HIM. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THIS FAMILY, AND BABY BECKEM. HE DESERVES IT....

The news is failing to mention that this same man left the same baby in the vehicle at work just 8 days prior to this happening. Luckily, the week prior people heard the baby screaming in the car and informed the dad. The windows were down. So he turns around a week later and does the same thing, but of course this time remembering to close all the windows. This man deserves to ROT in prison for the rest of his life. I have no sympathy for this man.

Is it true he left this child in the car before? I am sure you would know that if it is true.

My prayer is that he is sent to the slammer for the rest of miserable life. This clown does not deserve fresh air, much less the freedom to live in a civilized society.

This has all the ear marks of MURDER. A good investigation by police, a speedy trial; then off to prison for this clown. Why was the first episode not reported to authorities by those who found that baby and notified the lousy father? That bunch should be prosecuted for failure to report a serious crime. Had they acted responsibly, that child might be alive today. It's not hard to imagine how that baby suffered in a vehicle where the temperatures reached 150 degrees.

That is where I was going with that question. If he indeed has done this before there is no defense. I do not know this family but I just have a hard time trying to see this man come up with a defense.I also would like to know what he did when he was told his baby was screaming in the car?

Were you one of the do-gooders who found that baby baking and screaming in the vehicle in the Sebring Capital parking lot 8 days earlier? If so, why was this crime not reported to Police at that time?

Had this man's family, friends and co-workers acted responsibly even 8 days earlier, this tragedy likely would not have happened. What kind of people are these anyway? Certainly should not be listed among the good people of Texas.

It is interesting to note the comments of all the people who knew this individual and how that has clouded their take on the whole incident. Just because you know someone (even cold blooded murderers have their fan base) does not make it understandable or unintentional. Taking scripture (bleeding heart) that is out of context and which has no relation to what has happened does not make it 'understandable' or 'unintentional' either.

My advice to those sympathizers out there is to shed their dubious garb of trying to be 'nice and understanding' and see things for what they are. I am a father of two little boys and am a practicing christian too. My faith however does not afford me the luxury of sugar coating evil when I see it with some misplaced notion that this is what Jesus would have me do.

At the very least, this individual needs to go to prison for the rest of his pathetic life...

It appears someone at the workplace leaked that info, but for reasons that are not entirely clear, the local press is soft-peddling this whole matter. The story needs to be told...this is one time the public needs to know. Still checking.

It is hoped that you will have an opportunity to visit this clown at the TDC facility where he is sent to serve the remainder of his miserable, good-for-nothing life. Speaking of ignorance, a lot of ignorant stuff has been posted on forums on the Internet, but NONE as ignorant as the bleeding heart garbage you posted. Anything else?
