Hey Richard you should kill yourself immediately you moron. You must be the pride of your family: that's the most ignorant thing I've heard anyone say.

Perhaps you'd like to say that to the parents, wives, significant others of the pilot and mechanic.

What a freekin' douche bag you are.

Oooops, the it looks like the "Jesus nut" wasn't properly secured...from the article:

"Though this has not been officially confirmed, it appears the main rotor became detached from the aircraft and likely cut off the tail section of the helicopter, which fell to the ground relatively intact. The source also confirms that this helicopter was in maintenance for an issue related specifically to the main rotor."

I'm sure the factory never approved the "texas taildragger" conversion of that helicopter.

Wow what respect. I went to A&P school at Tulsa Tech with the mechanic Stephen Durler and also graduated highschool with him. Heck of a guy and truly hits home when it's someone you know. Their is so many other ways that heli could have went down and they would have had a better chance of surviving. No confirmation yet, but you just don't stand a chance if the jesus nut comes off. They said at the last radar sweep, they were flying the same altitude, speed, and direction. And at the next radar sweep their was nothing their. Within 5 seconds and a quarter mile, she went down like well, a copter that lost it's rotor in midflight. RIP Stephen.

Hey Richard. Why don't you post a good picture of your face. That way, whenever an EMS person comes across you in an accident, they can just leave you there..... Although they are better than you, and would still care for your moronic ass anyway.

I don't care what they do so long as they don't crash their damn dirty helcopter into me or mine.

Wow you are vermin...I've never read such moronic statements. I went to school with one of the men aboard that Helo, he was only 23 years old. If you're so miserable, why don't you put that "UZI" of yours to good use, & put a round of 9mm in your forehead, you imbecile.

stephen was one of my best friends, he lived an amazing life just before his accident he had traveled to new zealand by himself and had asked me and a couple of buddies to go I was working all the time and was unable to go. I kick myself everyday for not going with my friend to join him. No words can speak the volumes this kid meant to people he was there rock he gave people inspirations and at his age accomplished so much. Sometimes things like this happen for reasons unknown Richard you have no idea what you are talking about you maybe a mechanic but you should know these things just happen and like many have said just apologize for you to say karma caused the crash (its spelled kharma) that really upesets me stephen was the kind of person most of us wish we could be and he lived it to the fullest everday.

richard maybe you should be a little more respectful to the fact the stephens family and friends are going to read this and all your comments are just going to upset them.

Everyone can rest assured that the Jesus nut was not only intact, but still secured and safetied to the main rotor mast. If you look at the pics of the main rotor, you'll see that a the upper portion of the mast is still in place. Just remember that speculation and assumptions without the facts are dangerous things. R.I.P. Guy and Stephen.

TX Mechanic. If this is true, which we don't know for sure since their is still only a preliminary report out, then how did the main rotor separate from the heli and cut off the tail boom leading to it dropping like a moving rock?

No, "things don't 'just happen'",

1. design negligence,
2. operation negligence,
3. manufacture negligence,
4. maintenance negligence,
happen.

Richard_

Since I'm assuming you have no life and are a miserable disgusting waste of a human being, you should know that these 2 men saved lives everyday and are truly missed. Unfortunately as stated in another post, if you you were ever seriously injured, CareFlite and these men would be there to unfortunately save your life. Could you please just post a sign on your head saying "I'm a worthless piece of S*^&" so they wouldn't waste their time and risk their lives to pick you up? Stephen was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Lived life to the fullest. Loved his family. Loved his dog Foster. And meant a lot to his friends.

Not like you care, you scumbag.
