It's interesting to read these posts and see just how many people have become disenchanted with the Bartolini experience. I personally know of several families who were once loyal customers but no longer are, for the same reasons posted here.
most business that have a bar have the tax built in to the price like you say -
the one thing the brothers forget - if you piss-off the customer the bartender losses out on the tip

True pnt_man. But I really don't think those two care how many they piss off or who loses out as long as it isn't them.

I would have to agree with most of the above-posted comments. Our family used to love Barto's - the food was great, it was close to home and the prices were reasonable. More recently, the prices have gone up and the portions seem smaller. We used to order the fried fish dinner quite a bit - the size of the fish pieces were great - it was a very filling dinner - lately, the size of the pieces have drastically gone down - they are now the size of a white castle hamburger....the last few times, our take out order has been messed up too. It's really a shame, because we prefer to support local businesses, but when I don't get 'bang for my buck' I'll go else where.

They're definitely not the best around but the food is very decent compared to the other options around here. I do absolutely love their breakfast though. Hog Wild has gone down the tubes and honestly don't understand all of the hype. The fries are disgusting, the ribs are drenched in sauce so you can't tell how bad they really are and the chicken is average at best, often very dry. I would like to see more options around here...was happy to see that Steer Hogs has opened. We're planning on trying them tomorrow. They're website is also up, looks like they have a nice variety to choose from.

Thanks for posting about Steer Hogs being open. I checked out their menu and it sounds like they will have a nice variety with reasonable prices. Now hopefully the food will be good!:)

I hear what you say - I can go along with a minimal price increase and a reduced portion - that could be the vendor raised their cost and such - That may not be under their full control - but the quality of what they serve and their service is under their full control - I've been asked how everything was - they really don't care - told them the truth service was slow food was cold had to chase down waitress to get the bill

o you have an 8th grade education? What does "aint" mean? Why does portion even come into play? Do you have to have something to take home? Speed? Another way you display how dumb you are. How fast do you want good Italian food to cook, maybe they should use the microwave? Price? You get what you pay for you poor soul. Taste? You apparently have none.
You are forever coming on here smearing Bartolinis. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you cant even use proper vocabulary son?
the food sucks, its not good Italian food the spaghetti is terrible, then you only get one piece of bread, how can that place stay in business, I think they do use a microwave, the pizza is the worst I ever had, the price is way to high come on have some pride in your food

Said never again when I ordered a sandwich and asked them to put the sauce on the side so the bread didn't get soggy before I got it home. Yep charged me extra for that.

At least I am not the only who got charged extra - tax at the bar extra charge for sauce on the side - what next?
a charge for salt and pepper - I forgot do they give you water

That place was not really meant to be a sit down place - they built it for takeout and parties

once they got the approval for the slots they added the patio - that will be a great place to sit in January

If I was Italian I would be appalled to serve what they call "garlic bread" to any human...That gross Cisco grease smeared over 3 day old bread...heinous!
I mean how difficult is it to make garlic bread?

Oh really? So he or she left out an "r". Big deal! You had grammar, punctuation and capitalization errors in your own post!

Spell it however you want. That garlic bread is the worst ever. I thought greek restaurants like Mickeys had the worst, but Barto's makes theirs taste world class.

Terrible

your a bit hostile, I don't sit on this board all day...I have a real job & just thought I would add my 2 cents on a smart phone....I doubt they make CRISCO but SYSCO food products are restaurant standards & it not BUTTER ITS NOT MARGARINE it geloutinous goo... damn me for misspelling geloutinous too..why would you automatically think I was drinking at 10AM? says alot more about you then me...obviously you need anger management if your getting so upset about gross food products? How do you react when you get into a fender bender?

Seeing as this topic is filled with the same person posting under numerous names i see this as a dead issue.

Apparently Bartolinis is doing something right.

I take this topic with a grain of salt.

I may make many fine pastas but I only post under one name. Although I can not speak for others in this thread, you may use the salt..no charge no tax.
