Disappointed tenant

I live in Brewington Pointe Apts in Brewton Al., and i thought it was just a random thing with these apartments. They don't care about the tenants as long as they get their rent. The managers are mean and the children have curfews and the cops called on them just for playing basketball. Some of the older tenants say its to much noise. Really? It's summer break and they are kids. I have reported the problem with my unit in January or February and nothing has been done yet, but now they wanna increase the rent. They send out memos that say if you don't like the rules then find a new place to live. I've never seen anything like it!!!!

Austin pointe apartments is a really bad place to live. If you want to switch do a different apartment in the same complex you will have to pay an additional $150.00 fee and the landlord will tell you that you will get it back in 90 days. she wouldn't give us the other half because she said that the carpets werent clean in the other apartment, we kept the reciept showing that in deed it was. That is a scam if I hadn't seen one. It took them 6 months for us to get half of it back and safety became a big issue with my family and we decided to break the lease. There is no security and the management don't care about the people that live at this complex they are a bunch of crooks. I would pay a little more and move to a nicer place to live. I have already filed complaints with bbb, dept of consumer affairs in alabama and Ga. I have also written to both senators in both states. I hope someone will do something. what a horrible renting expierence that was.

Ive lived at Highgate Apartments for over 2 years, and have no issues with on site management yet. I always do what is outlined in the lease, like pay rent ON TIME, don't trash my apartment, and haven't had no issues and no need to contact cooperate. I had a neighbors, that called them about something and she said they were helpful. a lot of the reviews are just ridiculous! Do what you said you would do and they will be nice and helpful…BOTTOM LINE!

I live in Spanish fort at The Kensley apartments. I think the management of these apartments do a wonderful job at keeping the grounds and complex clean . I recently wrote them a letter actually, due to the cleanliness of the laundry room. I has improved tremendously and is real clean every time i go to use it.

My experience as a resident of Austin Pointe has been great overall. I've been a resident for slightly more than a year. I've had to place numerous calls to the office and each on has been answered and executed promptly. I've seen minimal disturbances and they were all handled with integrity and confidentially. I've grown to have a wonderful rapport with Jean and Holly. I've recommended this complex to several people. I think the rates are reasonable. Ia m a new resident to the Warner Robbin area. i've felt safe and secure as a resident in Austin Pointe. I plan to continue resigning my lease as my finances permit.

just be careful. Jean and holly may be nice but ounce you switch to a different apartment make sure that if they ask you for 150.00 deposit tell them no. It's a scam to get more money from you. They never ounce helped us out or acted like they cared after we called the police about some bad tenants in bldg 4. The good news is that those people don't live there but jean is trying to make money and will let anyone live there. Even if they have a criminal record. I live in a peaceful place, on the safe part of town and our rates are awesome. We even have a neighborhood watch, free water, direct tv, and no crime to speak of. All of our neighbors are nice and we enjoy thier company and we have privacy. If you sit outside where you live, everyone wants to know your business.

Everything negative that has been posted about Highgate is the absolute and honest truth. I have never been late on rent, pay my bills, apt stays clean, never written up, etc. But the abuse you suffer when you live in Highgate is rediculous. Rules are bent and broken and the mgmt sees fit. If you need to find an apt, don't come to Highgate. You will be miserable. Apts are inspected 3-5 times a year, and they check to see how clean you are keeping it. you better make up your bed!

Highgate needs to be reported regarding abuse of some of their tenants, abuse of their rights to live in a peaceful home, and abuse of privacy. It is horrible, keep looking for nice comfortable place to live, don't stop here. Mgmt is very rude and hateful, and is proud of it. Doesn't abide by the lease at all. Rules are bent as needed by the mgmt. I was told by a third party that the police department gets numerous calls complaining about the mgr here. Some of the rules here are ridiculous. They like to dominate your life!

I lived there as well.. Me and Ms. Voncile has a falling out because she was aware of the parents above me leaving there 3 small kids home alone all day. The noise coming from the apartment above me was unbareable. I even had her come over to my apartment and listen for herself. Of course she agreed but never attempted to make a change. The kids safty should have been her main issue. I knew the older girl was trying to make meals for them because the fire alarm went off several times. Also because they didnt have supervision during the day they would invite all the neighbors kids over to play at the house. That should give you a hint as to how noisey it would get at times. But finally I had had enough and decided to move out. When I told her I was moving out and gave her my reasons why she became very upset. Two months later a old neighbor called me to say Ms. Voncile and her husband where moving out.. It was 9 pm and raining. But they apartment are under new management and I would like to move back. Unfortunatly there have been charges place against me for damages and numerous other things. All if which are very untrue because weeks earlier my apartmen was choosen for inspection when Dothan came out. And my apartment passed with a 100! the charges are over $500 and they kept my deposit. I am very upset and if you know anything about Ms. Vonciles where abouts please let me know. I refuse to pay these charges and she took some of my paperwork with my personal info.. Help me if you can!

It seems as all the complaint about Hall Housing and management of their property is being ignored. I am seriously thinking about writing HUD and filing a lawsuit against them. I live in one of their many apartment housing developments and Management is a Problem. They treat the tenants as if they are convicted felonies with limits. This is America, Land of the Free and home of the Brave. That's not the feeling I get when I am at home. The drug dealers, users and college students are running this place. As for the peaceful pay your rent on time shut up or you will be evicted. It seems as though these managers have very little knowledge or training on the rights of the people. Before you move into their property make sure you know your rights as a citizen and renters rights in your state and be prepared for the ride.

This was at PepperTree Apartments in Gulf

inquire, she said she would call the home office to find out what the problem was,and call me back the next day.Now we all know this decision is made by management.Well its going on over 3 weeks now and she has not called me.(I guess tomorrow never comes comes for them)also mailed owners, guess what?

You gotta wonder if any one from Hall Housing reads these posts. Well I live at Highgate and I am like everyone else on here, frustrated the way the management handles business. They are extremely unprofessional. I understand it's business and no one is there to make friends, but they are in the business of customer service as well as property management. I think they need a course in customer service. I don't like the fact that they come in your home anytime they feel like it. My children and I abide by the rules of the lease and I have gotten lease violations for the stupidest things, like I put mail that wasn't mine up above the mailboxes. REALLY??? I don't know who wrote the lease out but they really need to revise it and realize it's an apartment complex, not a prison. The latest is that we have been told for 4 weeks now they are going to pressure wash the buildings and we have to have everything moved from our patios until it's complete. Okay people it's the holidays and people want to decorate. I mean, am I supposed to offer someone a patio chair in my living room? There were plenty of pretty days and no pressure washing going on. It should be postponed until after the new year if they couldn't get it done before December 1st. And let me say that I do understand that it is business and nobody is here to win a popularity contest, however, the manager is one of most unhappy people I have ever met in my life and I think that's why she is so nasty to everyone. She's one of those nice-nasty people. And it is really sad that absolutely most everyone is intimidated by this woman, even her own staff!!!! Hall Housing really needs to look at the reputation of their company. I am not one of those people that just complains, if things were good around there I would be all about praising them, but that's not the case at all. I just think it's a shame that it seems like the manager takes pride in the fact that no one there likes her. In my opinion Hall Housing should be reviewing careerbuilder.com and searching for resumes for someone with the skill for the job as well as a pleasant personality. They also need to take a closer look at some of the terms of the lease. If any one takes the time to read this, Thank you.

I've applied to move into the Kensley 2 months ago and we've had to resubmit our app 3 times. Once I was called by the new property manager and was told that I was approved. Last Friday we were told our apt would be ready to move in on Tuesday. We decided to stay at a a local value place hotel for $320 a week and it's a week later on Friday and apt has been cleaned, repainted and carpet installed but still can't move in bc "waiting on corporate to approve you through the compliance dept". Meanwhile we are out $320 and no place to live. They should at least waive our security deposits or take off rent for all of my families troubles. I have a wife and 19 month old son and no place to live. Asked management to the number to corporate office and she said there's is no number. Everything done by email. I'm at my wits end.

I'm not sure if this is being read by anyone but, I too live in Pepper Tree (gulf shore, Al) and I honestly don't know where to start! We have had nightmare after nightmare!! I couldn't possibly fit it all in ( and I might spike my blood pressure). We just had a change in management, which seemed like a good thing. Until we started receiving weekly to biweekly news letters sent out. The first saying there are no bicycles or anything like that ( scooters, trikes, etcetera) allowed to be ridden on the property. I specifically asked this when I moved in ( seeing how that is a deal breaker bc I have two young kids). I was sent an eviction letter, not notice or intent, just another scare tactic bc I paid my rent late one month ( with late fee enclosed). We are treated like prisoners in a halfway house. We pay their salary, right?!!! They always talk down and if you mention corporate you immediately get a nice bullseye on your back. I can't believe they replaced a horrible staff with a bunch of egotistical chain smokers on a power trip. Most recently they took our pool "privileges" away. It's the middle of summer in Alabama and we are on a "time out" because someone drank beer at the pool. Previous to that they sent out a notice saying that the small pool ( old pool from first building with no chairs, umbrellas, or any kind of shade or bathrooms was for kids and families) and the newer pool with shade and bathrooms was for the elderly bc kids make noise. It's absurd the way they abuse their power and we just have to live with it or get evicted. Kids need shade and you would think that you would want to offer bathrooms to kids since they are more likely to go in the pool. When I inquired about bathrooms and proper shade for the extremely tiny/ overcrowded kiddie pool I was told that they won't be putting anything out bc " it will just be broken". When I asked what was wrong with the closed pool she responded, " I won't tolerate drinking at the pool" and showed a picture of an empty beer box in the trash. I think we have bigger issues then an empty beer box in the trash. There was no harm done to the pool what so ever. It was taken away from everyone. I'm sure our rent $ pays for that pool and the poor upkeep. I'm at my wits end for this place and its constant poor management. I have called about cat fights in the cooridore, a man knocking on mine and my daughters window from 2 am- 6am ( I had to confront him myself which is unnerving for a single parent) but, none of these issues were answered. The pool and children riding bikes is far more important! If anyone has found any number or anyway to talk to someone that isn't in the office please let me know if there is any hope. We recently had a bad storm making rental prices shoot up and rentals harder to find. SOS!
