I say we search for a committed candidate that will actually put 40 hours a week in as our county clerk. Instead of a part time clerk receiving a full pay and benefits while she is being a full time Republican Chair. The Good Ol;Boys are alive and well my friends time to run this one out of office and hold her accountable.

I think she does an excellent job. Want to find deadwood, go to the third floor. The Good Ole Boys are for sure hiding up there with their full time benefits and they aren't even elected. The attorneys fall all over each other, Wallace command a hell of a salary and now we have the elected legislators who really work part-time! Let's go for the top banansa. shrink the size of the legislature, elect the administrator, fire the fat cat lawyers. When you straighten out the 3rd floor, the rest will fall into place.

Absolutely yes. Someone on Topix really has it out for her but doesn't have the guts to put forth their name and instead hides behind a keyboard. If you have a doubt, ask to spend some time with her and see how she does her job.

Oh.. so the third floor is to blame? The legislature is comprimised of a majority of republicans. Lets see... Umm..... who could possibly be to blame for their election? The party chair right? I mean She endorsed Piseck, Bono, Weakley,Smith, hell she even endorsed the John Brennan. All these people you claim to be the problem were endorsed by none other than Sylvia Rowen. She is responsible for every republican being elected. Then she bitches about it. Shes a coward. She back stabs her own candidates. She is giving good republicans a bad name with her poor leadership and lack of a spine. Not George Aney.If you want to kill the fat snake, start by chopping off the head, the rest will follow. She heads the party she gets the blame no one else.Vote her out!!!!!!!!

The Democrats don't have anyone who will run against her. It's too bad.

People need to understand who is really behind the re-election of this group of idiots.Just take a peek at who sits on the Republican Executive Committee and you will see why, Sylvia Rowen, Mark Butler, Penny Vandusan, John Piseck, and few other choice appointments. It's all designed so they can stay on the public teet.Rowen is also the County Chair her full time job and she is the County Clerk, Her part time job for which she receives full time pay, full time benefits and full time retirement all while she does the republican parties bidding and the County tax payer gets to pay for it. Once again to kill the beast you must chop off the head, Sylvia Rowen.

We need a democrat to run against her.One just signed on to defeat Marc (the drunk) Butler. Now we need a candidate to rid us of Rowen. Once she doesn't have a job the Republican Party will be rid of her for good.

Why not get Helen Rose to run for clerk? Maybe that's not a good idea cause we need her on the legislature. It should be a lady though. Let's find a young one who can stand up to the boys!

It is just to sad that the Democratic Party in Herkimer is very weak. I wish more Democrats would unite and get together as a unified team and start challenging the Republicans... Oh well it was a nice dream, now that I am awake I realize the republicans will always be in charge of Herkimer County, to bad so sad, Wake Up Democrats...get it together and find someone. If not then stop complaining.

Once again Rowen sighted at Republican headquarters 1:15 pm 6/11/2012 on the taxer payers dime . Way to go Sylvia . All you apologists step up for the County Crook. A real DA would look into this matter. Mary this is your first trial as DA. Go get her.

not only "can be", they are all the time. The department heads working other jobs while being paid by the taxpayers. Happens all the time. Rowan doesn't have to answer to any of them. She is independently elected and will answer to the voters. From what I hear she is doing an ok job and the dems won't fight us on that one. Carpenter is the one in trouble. Iocovozzi is perceived as an outsider. Good lawyer who would really break the Aney hold on Herkimer county. It might be fun to watch.
