Excuses?
I've blown your opinion out of the water using facts and figures. How does that qualify as an excuse? I call it stating a case and backing it up with reality.
The fact is utica doesn't have the chip plant. That's the fact. You blew nothing out of the water. You say utica is corrupt but they lost the chip plant because of corruption on the other side? Please? Lol

We can make it better here, if we try. if we create and innovate. If we give our kids a good life here so they will want to stay. If people stop flocking south like there is some kind of plague here in the winter. If we organize and work together to get government off our backs and out of our pockets.

You're kidding right?
Do you know anything about New York politics?

Yes, Malta was chosen for political reasons and it had everything to do with the facts that Joseph Bruno represented that district.

If you've paid attention you'd know that the Marcy site is again being looked at by and unnamed major manufacturer in technology. I don't know for sure but I don't think they probably asked if our area had an AHL team as part of their due dilligence.

Again if you've been paying attention you'd know that there is a controversy right now regarding who should pay for the infrastructure that will serve that site (in Marcy). If taxpayers are balking at the idea of paying for improvements to a site that will actually draw good jobs and create growth for the area, how receptive do you believe they'll be to public funding of an AHL affiliate?

I know, I know. It's a done deal and no you will not see me at any games if one red cent of taxpayer money is spent on this scheme.

That chip plant will be dangled in front of uticans faces forever like food in front of a hungry dog by politicians until the quality of life goes up in the area. Unfortunately it's true. At this point do you think a business wants to put something there with nothing to do? Do you think high priced employees and executives from other regions of the country want to relocate there? Come on now.

I think a business looks for the best deal in terms of incentives. I think a business looks for a qualified workforce. I think a business looks at transportation costs. I think that in a nutshell any business looks for the place where they can maximize profits and minmize costs. I do not think any part of their decision is based on what there is to do. It's because they know that in a logical progression of events, people who work for them and because of them will decide what they want to do and how much they will pay for things like entertainment. That will set the marketplace. Good old Yankee ingenuity and entrepreneurship will do the rest. In the meantime there is plenty to do without an AHL team. You don't seem to want to acknowledge that AHL hocky is a very narrow interest and would serve only a small sliver of the population. I think you're doing that because you want people on board with some kind of taxpayer subsidy.

No one is going to move here or bring a business here because there is an AHL team here. To think otherwise is ridiculous. I've already listed some of the many things already here including the biggest, The Turning Stone Resort and all of the varied entertainment they provide less than a half hour from the Marcy site. There is just no justification for using one red cent of taxpayer money for an AHL team.

You would be incorrect. Aren't you the poster that stated the government shouldn't provide incentives for new business'?
