Spoken like someone in utica. The suburbs don't need or want any interaction with utica public services. Utica needs to fix their own problems.
No you do not get it. This would be a cost savings for all. You get rid of the NHPD, Whitesboro PD, Utica PD, etc. and go to one consolidated service provided by a single entity such as the Oneida County Sherriff. Cost of services for all should be less. This is not only fixing the Utica issues but provides cost savings to all. Why does every town, village, and city have to have their own services, cars, training, and support infrastructure for police when this could become a county operated service?

We have those services because we want and pay for them. Who are you to tell us otherwise? You're never going to have the level of service you have now if you take away the local level. My house has a home invasion in Yorkville and you want me to wait for a sheriffs car to come out of Camden or Waterville? You can go fly a kite. It's my family and my tax dollars. Now if we have a local problem we have a local representative that is accountable and receptive to a solution. We form this metro Goverment you are all clamping for no one will give to shits about your noise or garbage complaints.

Consolidation does not always equal a savings to the taxpayer. The sheriffs dept will then want and need more money. It will simply Shift the needed monies. Take the 911 centers for example. Everyone said its more cost effective if we went to one center. Well we did. Now the level of service for those busier agencies sucks and the county is on tv and in the press saying they need further millions to staff and run it properly. Duhhh. Who couldnt have figured out that end game. Your a born idiot to not see this side of blind consolidation.

If the city has gotten itself into a pickle and can't pay for its services like police and fire then thats too bad. But it's not my problem. I chose to not be a property owner there and you did. People in surrounding suburbs are happy with the level of services they have. This includes everything from police to fire to garbage pickup. Do not try and infuse the blight of that crap city on the rest of us good citizens. The game will end poorly.

Yes. The city
Should outsource. It should pay the suburbs to handle public safety. The suburbs are the destination spots for most decent folk to live in the utica area. They seem to have their act together unlike Uticas agencies. Not a week goes by where some Utica agency isn't in the news for union issues. Residency issues. Overtime issues. Legal issues. Gee wonder where the real problem lies? And you morons glorify utica public safety?

Outside Utica there is hundreds of volunteer fireman and professional police officers quietly going about there duties. Keeping there communities safe. No big news paper articles about anything controversial. Yet the talk is about Utica taking over other communities????? Haahahaha

If anything offer the job to These outside agencies. They seem to have there act together and know what they're doing. It's time the suburbs tell the city no more. Shit or get off the pot with all your malarky.

North utica becomes part of Deerfield, West Utica becomes Yorkville, East Utica goes to Frankfort and South Utica goes to New Hartford. Now there, wasn't that easy?

You fail to state that the surrounding suburbs are much SMALLER than the City of Utica and only need a few law enforcement officers compared to what is needed in Utica. What are the educational requirements and physical condition for an Officer in the suburbs compared to what the City of Utica's UPD require? How many homes have been totally lost to a fire because of a Volunteer FD compared to all the many houses saved by Utica's FD?

Don't even compare the suburbs "protection" to that of the City of Utica. You might have less crime - but you are also more vulunable if you don't.

I will continue to pay my taxes to live in a nice section of Utica as I know that when or if I ever need UPD or UFD, they both will be there within a matter of a few minutes.

Qualifications for PDs outside the city are usually higher and need some college. If homes are totally lost to fire as you say then why do most professional people making bank chose to buy such expensive homes in these suburbs? Your arguments are weak and come from an ignorant mind.

Enjoy your high taxes For subpar service.

It sounds to me like they might be terrified of utica actually outsourcing

Who would be terrified ?

Actually if the Utica fathers did outsource the needs to other agencies and close there own you'd see a cost savings and improved productivity. But you fools keep drinking the cool aid.

Consolidate police forces wrote:
Having seperate police services for towns, villages, and the county is not necessary. Consolidation of this service would save the County, City, and surrounding areas money. Overall their would be a reduciton in police force, cars, cost of insurances, and management required to separately operate each entity independantly. A study should be performed to investigate the cost benefits which could be achieved through a consolidated venture such as this.....
would this mean higherrrrr unemployment????????

These Utica kids are not worth the powder to blow them to hell. These are brats that will grow up to endure the cradle to the grave paycheck and political kick backs! Utica, should have their funding revoked.

Actually, many of these trashy kids might not be alive today had their parents been arrested years ago for criminal enterprise. Justice could never prevail for that if it did, they would not be alive today for they never would have been born!

Report him to the insurance carrier who is paying his disability checks. They have the money to send out an investigator and if your allegations are true, he can be arrested for insurance fraud (a felony!)
