These days kids are on the couch playing psp and ipod touch! what about some good healthy activities like skiing!

before "houses on the hill" or "condos that are not selling" were there, there was a nice place to go in the winter and do some skiing! close fun and good rates from sun up to sun set! What a shame that this had to go away? Summer= parks, trails,"stagecoach ",vintage look?
Winter= couch, psp, sledding if you have a good hill in your back yard? come on bring back something middleville could use! back then warren renyolds from tv8 came out and did ski reports from "ESCAR" thurs. nights! visit middlevilles web site check out parks and rec. see what ya can do in the winter!

Where is the old hill? Can you go there and sled down the hill or part of it? I moved to Middleville and have been looking for a place to take my son to slide.

The old resort is long gone. I use to ski there all the time back in the mid 70's. It burned down and they never reopened.

Mike, I dont think anything is left anymore. I was there a few years ago and didn't see anything. I have some pictures of the place from 1977 from our Hastings High School Ski Club.

if you got o the top of the hill the is an old motor were you get off the lift. and if you walk down one of the hills on one of the sides there are poles which i think that are for the lifts or rope pulls or tow ropes. and at the bottom of the hill about right were you walk in the is a yellow something. it has a bunch of wheels on it and my guess is that it is for the top of the poles were the lift rope goes on, or it is something for grating the hill. no the village gets there water from it and kids sled down it. if anybody knows the name if it could you tell me.

A ski hill is not going to change things in such a mentally inflexible area. It really doesn't help matters that the cops there have detered visitors in the past by doing their best to hand out tickets for going one or two miles per hour over the 25 mph limit, and going so far as to follow people from one end of the county to the other just to try to find a reason to give them a ticket!

I feel sorry for anyone who has to live in such a physically and spiritually cold area. Honestly, some of the people there need to lighten up and at least act friendly! Any potential that the town has is overshadowed by a bizarre obsession with selective draconian rules and regulations that seem to disregard any form of humanity for residents and visitors alike.

Why should we support a place for young people to hang out and have a good time? The court system is a money making machine that wants our youth to live a cyber life on facebook.
