Harmony School parking

The parking in this area has to stop. That road is just not wide enough for the parking that goes on there during school hours.

It is tight. You just have to go slow and you will be fine

If it's around 2:30, take a different route. Clairidge or Bayberry or Johnson Terrace.

Barbara, I know it is an inconvenience to navigate around Harmony School, especially on a rainy day when many parents are picking up their kids, like today.

Middletown has 13 elementary schools, I believe. This is one of the things that makes Middletown a wonderful place to live. No matter where you live, there is a neighborhood elementary school nearby. Some of them are ancient. But instead of closing neighborhood schools and building a larger school that would accommodate the students from a larger area, we have kept our neighborhood elementary schools.

Stay away from the elementary schools when you know that they will be congested, use an alternate route. Concerned parents are always going to be picking up their kids from our elementary schools, this is a good thing.

Parents should not be parking so close to cross walks. Maybe the town should give training to their crossing guards if they don't already. Signs say no parking. Maybe the Town should look into building a parking for that whole area. It is a a bad area for any emergency vehicles at that time, I just hope they don't need any at that time. It's not me I am concerned about it's the kids.

Its not only the grammar schools Barbara, the Bayshore Middle School is on another heavily traveled road, Leonardville road.

The problem is all these school sites were selected for convenience back in the day(30s/40s) and the traffic has dramatically increased with thesubstantial growth over the years. I really think access to these school roads should be limited to busses and parents(with stickered vehicles) picking up or dropping off their kids with auxillary police (you can't have crossing guards directing traffic) during peak school hours.

Yeah, it will be a big inconvenience at first but once folks get used to it, they can avoid those roads at those times. All have nearby work arounds. IMHO the safety of the kids is worth the inconvenience!

Middletown Police could have made some money today with all the cars parking in cross walks and to near the corner. Cones are put out in these areas.

Barbara, why not contact the Chief of Police and the TC to voice your concerns. No one here can help you but please keep reporting all these traffc nightmares, your concerns may ultimately attract the attention of the proper parties and get action. Its worked in other forums you know! LOL!

Straw is being modest Barbara.
He never attends any township meetings, he uses forums to get things done. He had Cooper Rd. paved, he implemented changes to the water mains, JCP&L have taken his advice, he almost had the central office administrators abandon the school on Leonardo Rd, because when they leave work the sun is in their eyes and they run over children, when you see the new intersection by the Old Stone Church you will have straw's suggestions on forums to thank. Heck, he even addresses Obama directly through forums.

Keep up the good work Barbara and don't listen to the naysayers.

On the serious side, I think you have a legitimate concern that has gotten out of hand.

BTW, you left out the creation of a TWSP "storm management center" that serves as the command and communication center to keep residents op to date on snow plowing, road closures, driving bans etc.

I'd like to think it will be in full swing with Hurricane , Sandy....we'll see!

PS I luve how you make me the focus of every thread you post in. I'm flattered.

Let's not forget the wheel and sliced bread.
You suffer from delusions of adequacy.

Fact, I brought up the topic of a "storm command center" on NJO. And I pointed out the sidewalk snow removal ordinance was not getting the job done. So there is indeed a dotted line connecting me to both issues. And all I've ever claimed is that I keep toics in the forefront until they get the attention they deserve.

I guess your envy must translate my efforts as my delusion so you can handle your own inadequacies! I don't blame you, you have to do what is best for you.

BTW, didn't you say you'd only discuss BOE issues with me??? LOL!

No, you took credit for Cooper rd then lied to Warrior about it.
Some friend.
You are certifiable.
You also praised Keyport for being a progressive town, unlike Middletown, for implementing a snow removal policy for homeowners.

Then you ignored me when I pointed out that we already had the same policy.
You are nothing more than a self congratulating two bit blowhard.
