Amtrak said that the concrete railroad tie suppose to last 50 years. They started using them in the 1990s. So why are they cracking after only 17or 18 years of use. Something tells me that Amtrak should look for another company to supply them if thats the case. They should go back to the wooden ones if I had it my way. I worked for the railroad and found the wooden ones to give you a more quiet ride over the newer concrete ones being use today. Why don't they make them out of Rubber from automobile tires. That would make more sense to me.

Amtrak should hire some chemical engineers and develop synthetic HILLARYIUM CLINTONIDE, the hardest substance known next to diamonds. It is well known that natural HILLARYIUM cannot be worn down or broken. It is some hard $h1T.

Amtrak knew this 10 yrs ago that the ties where bad....they started having problem with them back then. its just another way for Amtrak to get more money out of the America tax payers. Maybe just maybe if they would cut some of their management jobs in half they would save alot of money since most of them don't know what the different is between a train an air plane, they could make a go at it.. there is way to many chiefs an not enough Indians
