The state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control raided Sal's Spirit Shoppe on Park Avenue Thursday night, resulting in charges for the owner, a teenager and a 20-year-old borough resident. via Courier News

Since Caperelli left the force, there appears to be a double standard. "Friends of Police" seem to get over on just about anything. The regular citizen, who does not brown nose or "Yes Sir, Yes Sir" this recent crop of law enforcement personnel, because they have no need to as they are straight law abiding folks, end up with the dirty end of the stick. Until the citizens demand a CIVILIAN COMPLAINT REVIEW BOARD, who will take their job seriously and weed out the bad apples, the double standard will continue. South Plainfield had very fine officers and Chiefs in the past. Folks who do nothing deserve the law enforcement they get stuck with. WAKE UP SOUTH PLAINFIELD AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!! YOU can once again have a police force you can be proud of.

That's too bad. Sal's a nice guy.
It's hard to detect fake ID's sometimes. I know because I've been a bouncer at several bars from Newark to Plainfield.

He might be a nice guy, but that bar all it does during the summer is attrack loud noisey motor cycles that tear down my street late at night. It wakes my children up and thus keeps me up. Its tiring deal with the same problem over and over again. And I don't live right next to the bar. People should have more respect and not do that with there motorcycles. Me being a business owner I do want to see that place go out, but as a resident I want it out.
