Why do they make you go through someone at the middle of the store to get a ticket and go to another window to pay for it . I stood there forever while one of the workers tried to explain a part to a man only to have to get a ticket from him and then to another window to pay for it .

Security would be my first guess. But I cant speak on there behalf, so lets hope someone from there comes on to explain. It is annoyin at times.

Security is my guess also. If you have a ticket made by one person, and pay another there is less a chance of someone pocketing money.

The reason they do that is NOT to annoy anyone.
They are trying to control petty thieves that don't work for a living, but take and leave them holding the bag to their vendors. The owner of the store is a hard working guy who built the place from NOTHING and made it a great place to get supplies. If you have to wait just a little longer so what.

I've been to several TS stores and I've been so happy with the customer service and the stores overall. I hope customer satisfaction is a requirement so we don't have people looking dazed and confused like in other stores here.

Security reasons. What do you think of the men that work there and also the past men that have worked there?

To Working Woman
I don't think that question has any relevance here.
Sounds like you are attempting to start a bashing brigade.

I've done business with them for years without any problems. The salesmen have always been helpful to me since I am a "do it yourselfer." They will come form behind the counter to help you. Yes you may have to wait on them sometimes. It is locally owned with the owner supporting many local charities and schools. Hopefully anybody who has had a bad experience will give them another try!

To "Working Woman" I really do not have an opinion on the men working there! Sorry!

got a chip on your shoulder or what? It is an inconvenience to pay like that especially now that the store is so much bigger. I was there and there wasn't a price on an item on a nearby sale table and was told to bring it to them and they would find out...Please price all your items.
I've been a satisfied customer for years, and there is always room for improvement. So why complain about waiting? Hello, my time is valuable and the setup is ridiculous.

I agree with the last 3 posts, someone for sure has a problem with a worker, but this forum is about the store as a WHOLE! not just one worker.

A really bad setup for the customer, Its been that way for years, While in the old building. Purchase one place..Pay at another. Time consuming at the least!

Since we have to go to all that trouble to purchase something could someone tell the lady we pay to smile . If we are spending money with you can you at least smile and show your appreciation .

this is angie that works in the office at jim brown supply, and i've very sure there are those of you out there whom do not like me, that i cant change, however, virginia that works in the office does smile and when you get to know her she is a very nice lady. i'm betting that not all of you are little miss mary sunshines 365 days out of the year, nor do we know what goes on in everyone elses lives either. Now on to what we do and why. Yes it is first and foremost because of shop lifting secondly we keep the money in one place because it is just easier that way. We try to treat each customer with respect and as quickly as possible. Anyone who knows us will agree. We have had some employees quit and are in the process of filling those positions. Also I've been out a week for surgery. So there are several variables that do come into play where we cant get to everyone in a split second. We understand everyone is just as important and their time is of value. We hope that your experience at Jim Brown Supply is a good one, but we also know that there will be some people who will not be satisfied that is what makes us unique individuals. "you just cant please everyone all the time." Jim Brown is a locally owned and operated business and the owner is a great guy. The employees are all hard working regular joes who try their best and are just like you, trying to take care of their families the best ways they know how. I hope this clears some things up. And hope to see you all at the "brown" soon.

Red29 you have no idea what you are talking about. You need to stay in the office. You're right there are alot of people that do not like you and you can count me as one of them. You are always sticking your nose in business where it doesn't belong. If you would listen to less musice on you're little mp3 player and did more work, you might be able to get something done there.
