Maybe they should try test their faith by putting their hands into a tank of box jellyfish.

Let's see if their god protects them.

It is more merciful to just kill them than to capture them and cram them into small boxes to suffer and die long before their time. That's cruel, no matter if it is in the name of religion.

All that racket screaming, hollering acting like a damn dumbass probably got the snakes scared shitless.timber rattlers and copperheads are only a mild toxic, and docile. Not saying they won't bite ya but a person can live after getting bit from either of those snakes without medical att.Get them a black mamba and let them test their faith with it.

I believe that we are not to judge how anyone practices their religion. It is not up to us. However, I have read this article, and if indeed there is reason to believe that Rev. Coots is not tendering to these creatures and he should be, then something needs to be done. It is not right that they are kept in poor conditions as the article stated. If they are not eating and do not have the proper space to move around, then this is a case of animal cruelty. Plain and simple.

It's illegal to keep wild animals.

the bible also says that the son of man must be lifted up like the serpent in the desert. why are the sons of adam not doing this?

Khatru -
You are absolutely right. Lead by example. Show them how it's done.
Stick your hand into a box of King Cobras and fondle them aggressively whilst whistling "God Save the Queen." It would definitely prove once and for all that a god won't protect you.
They need to see it to believe.

No need

I have no scriptures to try and prove.

In any event, "Flower of Scotland" is my anthem of choice.

You don't have scriptures to prove, but you have a point to prove.
Do it. Stop being just a Topix wuss with an opinion, be a man of action.
Do it for the principle. Show these clowns once & for all a god won't protect them.
They'll believe once they see there ain't no little god interested in plucking even an atheist out of a box of snakes. You'll have died for your cause. Topix will save bandwidth. It's a Win-Win situation.

Flower of Scotland.

No. That's beyond ridiculous.

Before you go sticking your hand in a box of venomous snakes, put on a pair of pants.
Nobody wants to see your "bag pipe" flopping around under a kilt while you're flailing around in your death throes.
Scottish men look stupid enough as it is.

Are you really this predictable?

You can now consider yourself ignored.

Mark that down as another of your failures at trolling.

Khati,
You must really take Topix seriously to get your feelings hurt that quickly. That's sad.
But, surely you recognize the irony of a Nottingham cyber-nerd boasting over 15,000 posts, scouring the forums in a foreign city, calling another poster a "troll."

The people that handle snakes seriously need some psychological intervention. I do not believe you should tempt God in any shape and lest not to do it with his name attached. I think the scripture in the bible refers to handling snakes, to handle the devil and it will not hurt you, not snakes, Remember the bible was written and rewritten and some of the verses have been altered. Who knows what the original verse might have said. But let those uninformed people keep kililng themselves. That is a crime also to let snakes kill you and keep them in this condition.

Now I'm all for punishment but hey. When you're dead, let it go.

Are you trying to tell us you practice the Muslim faith? I noticed you did not capitalize God, however you did capitalize Allah. In your name, are you using it from the song by Yes, Siberian Khatru? Or are you taking it from the translation of Hindu law? I would be interested in finding out. You know, curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back. I find it quite odd that someone from the UK would be on a forum in a small city in eastern Kentucky.
