if you vote union what little bit of raises you do get will go to your union dues, have you people not realized this. your insurance will go up and your profit share will be gone. all you are doing is filling that many more peoples,(union members),pockets even fuller. have you ever stopped to think about how much these people that are trying to get you to vote them into your company make, they probably make more than you do just by trying to recruit people to vote union. as of now you have a job,you may not like all the conditions or the environment that you work in but at least you are not standing in the unemployment line, like you might be doing if union gets in. their are people out there that needs their jobs and couldnt make it on unemployment, you all need to think about that. you might be mad over how things are but it is better to think about the future, there aren't many jobs in this area and especially ones that pay as well as smithfield does, which you may not consider good, but you could'nt make that kind of money flipping burgers, which may be all your left with if you vote union in. before you vote yes consider your own family and if you think you have it bad now think of how it could be in the future. i bet if you ask someone who worked for the hostess company that voted union if they would could revote they would tell you yes and they would'nt vote union in. you may not be getting the profit share on time but i am sure you will admit that when you do get it, you sure could use it and that the .25 raise you get you can use it even though you dont see all of it due to taxes but what little bit you do see of it you can use. i work for what i have and i am thankful that i have a job to go too and i am voting no because i want to continue to have a job to go to to support me family. they union people are visiting peoples houses and ringing the phones , why dont we ask them to show us how much they make, i have seen some of them in some very nice vehicles. if you have a family please vote to keep union out of our workplace.

Vote yes and go sit on the unemployement line. Union recruiters are deadheads that sucker the average worker into voting yes for a union, that increases their membership and bank accounts. I personally know several union recruiters and their wages are twice the average employee they represent. Vote YES and feed the OBAMA backers of America. Bell County needs more unemployed and if you think some out of town union-head is going to feed your family (have you got a surprise coming). VOTE "YES" and I will say I told you so before you tell me look how much the union has helped my family.

When you join a union you are all in for mediocrity at best.

If you are working a job making or assembling a product and you produce 400 units per shift and your co-worker doing the same job barely gets over 100 units per shift if you are in a union that co-worker gets the same raise you get for goofing off and you worked your butt off.

What is the result? If I am the one producing 400 items per shift guess what I am doing, a little over 100 like my slacker co-worker.

On the other hand if I am in a non-union shop and I am recognized for my efforts and I get a 5% raise or more and my co-worker gets written up I am going to be happy and try for an even better raise the next time.

In a union shop productivity suffers and sorry workers whom you can't fire without an act of congress drag your entire workforce down to their level of sorriness. Unions are parasite on business and the economy.

While Unions do benefit lazy people to some degree, they don't really encourage people to be lazy. I have worked several non union jobs and am currently a union worker and to be honest most of the workers that are active in the union halls and meetings are the hardest works. To put thing in simple terms it is a matter of pride in your work and each indvidual's work ethic. Lazy people will suck their way through union or no, the good workers might as well benefit

thats right, all the people who are pushing the union are the lazy people, who wanting a free hand out. its the one who has has been there when the mcgregors had it and took care of them , and didnt care about the drugs floating around, thats all you hear, the mcgregors they did this and didnt make us do this, well wake up , smithfield owns it now, and they ripping us off. how they have better insurance. and better working conditions, and still getting a profit sharing, but they cry its not like the mcgregors profit sharing, it might not be but look at the ecomomy in this world, they need to be thankful they have a job, if they are that unhappy with their work place quit and find another one. because the union is not gonna help that place and like someone said they will shut the doors if it goes in, why do they think alot of the bosses are leaving and yTerry oroark left. got a job while they could find one.

no we dont need a union and if you fell you are having to kiss butts then maybe you need to reevaluate your work maybe you feel like you have to kiss butt because you are not putting your best into it. go to work, do your job, mind your own business and you might see things a little differently.so what are you going to do vote union in so they can help the plant close, then you can get in the unemployment line until you get another job or maybe start some fast food job and then you will see that no matter where you work there will always be those you kiss their way to the top or the suck ups, or the smart a**es that your not gonna like, so what are you gonna do then holler we need a union again. get over it and leave well enough alone appreciate the job you already have. in case you havent noticed our government is not in good shape.

no they didn't but I am not blind and see how our economy is and am smart enough to know that if you have a job now to hold onto it. You have to take the bad with the good these days to make it in life, I have a family to support so that is what I am going to continue to do. If union gets voted in , we will all probably be standing in the unemployment line and those who vote the union in will be the first to complain about it. You people must think jobs are a done a dozen around here, why don't you take those blinders off and look around because they are not. It's your choice whatever you vote but just hope that whatever you vote don't come back to bite you in the a**.

union done told that were smithfield put in on the workers 401k that if union went in smitfield would no longer apply to the workers 401k, so vote union see how better off the workers will be NOT! people are stupid if they think its gonna help!just imagine what else will stop as far as the bennefits and other things, that the worker have and wont have if the union is voted in. i went to 1 meeting with my spouse the union sure didnt impress us any what so ever, and the workers just complain over stupid stuff, things that would be happening if you worked at mcdonalds. grow up be thankful you have a job, my spouse is voting no, and i know alot of the raw side have changed their minds too. to vote no,

They held three meetings at Smithfield the last time the vote was there and the head person stated in his speech that Smithfield would not shut down if the union came there. All of Smithfields plants are union. If they ran things fairly there then there would be no need for a union at all. They don't though. Everyone is suppose to get wrote up if they have high points but not all do,. They have fired some for their points but then not give others write ups even though they have high points They look the other way with those people. It isn't fair to punish one person when you have ten doing the same thing.

i don't think all of the other plants have union, maybe 8 of them. our plant doesn't need the union to come in. people just need to do their jobs and stop complaining because they have to go to work, that is part of having a job, going in each day and doing what you are supposed to do.you all will see that the union isn't going to help, they are just going to get their pockets a little fuller from the dues that we will be paying, so the 6 month raise will go on their pockets and you won't see any of it. insurance will go up and that is that much more out of our pockets and what profit share we do get will be gone so there we loose again. suck it up and go do your job and stop complaining.ask anyone who works how their workplace is, things are they same everywhere, you have the two-faced people the a** kissers and the backstabbers. the truth is no one wants to work but unfortunately we are were'nt all born wealthy and to support ourselves and our families we have to.i, like the others don't want to stand in the unemployment line, my family and i couldn't make it off of unemployment so my vote will be no. i just hop others will look around and see how things are around us and that our economy is bad and jobs are scarce in this area and vote no as well.
