Every year somebody has a complaints about the parade. Let it go. It is what it is and will never be anything different.

I was at this parade and we seen alot of pretty floats. Everyone did such a great job, and my kids got a lot of candy. We had a great time and I plan on going back next year if it is the good Lord's will. What a good title angels among us. We all need an angel watching over us in these times and this is exactly what the area needed, to be reminded of the Lord.

why dont you make a float or be in the parade and see if you can make it any better. You probably did not even attend and did not see any thing that was in it!

Why does it show this on topix as a forum but when you click on it and it will not open.

Since, my Claiborne County tax dollars help support Cumberland Gap High School, I believe I have a right to express my opinion of the improper dress of the Cumberland Gap Cheerleaders in the parade. It seems, those who my tax dollars help support at CGHS have the power to sensor my call for appropriate dress for the CGHS cheerleaders. The forum, "Parade Judges," seems to now have been removed. A call for appropriate attire is not a radical point of view.

As a Claiborne county resident myself I have never ever seen where we pay school taxes. I always knew Kentucky did but I have never known to here. Where is that coming out at? Not saying you're wrong about any attire, just wondering about the school taxes.

You evidently do not pay any period. I pay plenty of property taxes and the majority of the property taxes goes to the school system.

As the one who is being censored for the truth, maybe I might be allowed to express my opinion on that. I thought the float from the church with the angel wings was by far the best.

It was nice for the kids to get some candy. In Lafollette, I have seen so much candy thrown the street was littered with candy not picked up.

If you remove the amount of your property taxes going to Claiborne County schools, you will find you have a massive tax cut.

Ok thanks. I didn't know that. Yes, I pay my property taxes for the one who said I evidently don't. Taxes are a part of life so I don't bitch about it. I was just asking and am glad someone on here told me politely. I am a new home owner and escrow pays my insurance and taxes and I know taxes have to paid no matter if I fuss, cuss or whatever so no sense in stressing over it. Especially if it goes to the school system. That's a great place for it to go. I'd rather it go to the children than anywhere else. :)

You really don't get a fair break on your taxes in Claiborne County.Senior citizens can claim to be low income and have no savings and not pay any property taxes. The "Greenbelt" program allows anyone with fifteen acres of land to put it in the so-called "Greenbelt" and pay a far lower amount of taxes than you do on your home and lot.The taxation system in Claiborne County is nothing more than a scam to let some property owners avoid paying their fair share of taxes or senior citizen liars to avoid taxes altogether. If senior citizens are, in reality, actually poor; I do not in any way oppose exemption from taxes on their homes. It is actually unlawful for the school system budget to be cut by Claiborne County Commission. We do not live in a democratically governed county. We live in a Hogarchy.
