I had one for almost 2 years and I hated it. The longer I kept it the more I hated it and the more problems Id have. I had it remove because my husband and I wonted another baby. It took me 8 months to get pregnant after having it removed. Although they said you could the very next month. I started reading things online and alot of people said the samething. I wouldnt recommed it to anyone.

I didnt have a problem with mine the whole 2 yrs.no period alittle weight gain.when i had to have it remove everything went wronge. This has been 2yr and i hardly ever have a period, i got scar tissue on my cervix and recently diagnosed with pcos and i believe the iud had alot to do with it. Im hurt i been trying to get pregnant for a year now with no succes! I have had hormones all out of wack. And i also have talked to my dr and he thinks all my medical problems arent related to the iud but i honestly believe it is.

I've had my Mirena in for over a year and I've had no problems with it at all. No weight gain, I still have a period and I actually think my period is a little bit heavier than it use to be but not terrible. I love my Mirena bc I could never remember a pill before and the patch made terrible looking spots on my skin.

I have had the mirena. In for almost a year and I hate it. All I do is bleed. Are u suppose to be able to feel the strings even after the are cut? I bleed 90% of the time out of each month. Is that normal, or should I see a doctor???

they have found that not having periods is actually SAFER and the risk of uterine cancer is lower. no period means no scar tissue build-up from your egg tearing away from your uterine walls. that's why there's less cases of uterine and cervical cancer in third world countries. those women stay pregnant most of their reproductive lives which means less periods. a period is just an unfertilized egg being ripped out of your uterus and flushed from your body. whoever told you that not having periods wasnt natural was wrong.

Dr. Robertson inserted mine 2 months after havin my 1st son & I never had 1 problem w/ it. I didnt have a period, but everything was great. I had it removed when my son was 18 months bc I was wantin another baby. I found out I was pregnant 2 1/2 weeks later. Then I had another put back in when my baby was 6 months old & am yet to have any problem what so ever with it. I am very pleased w/ it. I hate to read of so many bad experiences w/ it. I wish everyone had the same result as me. good luck.

Got two friends who are using IUD's with different stories. One had it inserted two years ago and she seems okay with it. Not sure if it's the copper type or the Mirena. My other friend had her Mirena in 2011 and she has been complaing of various pains. She learned in http://www.mirenalawsuit.us/mirena-iud-carrie... that there are also a lot of women experiencing complications.

I had a mirena iud for the full 5 years. I had no problems during no periods. After removal periods where irregular and we where trying for a baby. I ended up having couple miscarriages 5 months later and then having a pregnancy that had to be took due to no heart beat 4 months after that. Now year later I am pregnant with a healthy baby so far and due in a few weeks. But I believe mirena did play a part in the unable to concieve quickly and a part of miscarriages.

I'm in the middle of a class action lawsuit because mine migrated and had to be surgically removed and now I have excess scar tissue in my uterus. My chances of having another child are slim to none. My uterus had a hole punched in it by my birth control. This was the second one I had. The first 5 years was perfect and I was a year into the second one when the problem occurred. Just keep in mind that this can happen to anyone....
