What does it mean when you pray or do something" in his name"? In the book of Isaiah chap. 9:6 it says---; (and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of peace.) These names descibe the character or principles of the Lord. There are many other "names " used to describe him in the bible,Savior, Christ. Light, The Word are a few. Can you name more and or tell us what it means to do something in his name?

One simple way for me of doing something in his name is to ask myself before hand, what would Jesus do? Bless you all and have a wonderful day!

Anything that I post that is true, that is honest that is of praise or virtue and goodness comes not from me but through me. Anything I post that is false or of hate or anger is mine and mine alone..I am human and fail at times unless I call on his name.

You would like me to suffer, wouldn't you? It's no coincidence that disgusting people are attracted to disgusting religions. But it must be frustrating that you have no real power in this world...only in your fantasies.

It is good, it is wonderful, it is fitting to invoke his name when we pray. It is even better by far if we walk the walk and live with the principles he taught and invoke his holy name. He tells us in 91st psalms that he will set us on high because we have known his name.

"It is good, it is wonderful, it is fitting to invoke his name when we pray." Worshipping a child-killing torturer is not good and prayer does nothing because there is, fortunately, no child-killing torturer who answers prayers.

"It is even better by far if we walk the walk and live with the principles he taught and invoke his holy name." Like "those who are not with me are against me?" How about executing non-virgin brides or sabbath workers?

You know I see you on every post that has to do with God, I just want to ask you a question. You are calling our savior a child killer and torturer. I and every child of God knows this is not true but it makes me wonder have you had a child to die and are you blaming God for it. God is Love not hate. If it wasn't for God you wouldn't even be breathing, and in my eyes he has had so much mercy on you. In the name of Jesus I rebuke you satin. Instead of arguing with you I will pray for you to get saved and I hope everyone else does too. Love covers a multitude of sin. I Love You and so does God.

"You are calling our savior a child killer and torturer. I and every child of God knows this is not true" According to the Bible, your god drowned nearly every person on earth and slaughtered every first-born in Egypt. That is beyond murder. It is genocide. Also, Jesus rants on and on about eternal torture.

"God is Love not hate." Torturing people for eternity is a perfect example of hate and sadism.

"If it wasn't for God you wouldn't even be breathing" No, that credit goes to my parents. Your imaginary friend had nothing to do with it.

"and in my eyes he has had so much mercy on you." Torturing people because they don't believe in you is not mercy. If your god wants people who use their brains to believe in him, he should stop hiding.

"In the name of Jesus I rebuke you satin." In the name of Spider Man, I rebuke you Venom!

"Instead of arguing with you I will pray for you" I'll think for you.

John 8:48 ( He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.) Acts 28:27 (For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed, lest they should see with their eyes , and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.)

"This is what the LORD says:'About midnight I will go throughout Egypt. Every firstborn in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn of the slave girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well. There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt—worse than there has ever been or ever will be again."

Men, women, children, animals. Your god-character is a blood-thirsty murderer. And this is what you worship.

Luke 8:10 ( And he said, "Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.) As for all that believe and seek the kingdom of God ,Jesus says in Luke 12:32( "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom." )

Behold , all things are become new. Old things have passed away. We have now a new testament. In this true testament Christ was the one slain so that we might have life everlasting. John 3:16( For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.) That was the ultimate act of love. This is not old testament times and therefore should not offend a weak minded individual that lets old testament stories frighten and anger him.

Oh yeah, in the OT, it was about torturing people in this life. In the NT, it's about torturing people for eternity. Do you call that progress?

O'k not going to argue with you but I must of struck a nerve so I just got some questions for you.
1. O'k we know you read a bible, this let's me know you are not an atheist because they don't believe in God do they or that is what I always thought. I just want to know what version you read, and do you study it, and really put into consideration what's going on at the time things are happening in it, and why God is letting them happen. Do you study it with an open mind?
2. Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?
3. Where do you see yourself going when you pass away?
4. Are you afraid of believing in God, do you know that he sent his only begotten son on this earth to save us by shedding his blood on a cross?
5. Who do you think you would call upon if you were dying?
6. Do you know how to get saved if not you can read in the new Testament and it will tell you what you must do in order to get saved.
7. Would you like me to give you the verses to look up in the Holy Bible King James Version? I'm still praying for you!!! and you can't stop me. I just think that you are blinded or you are just crying out for help by putting all these dangerous things you say about God on these posts. You do know God is in control of everything, and he can show you the true way to live in order to go to Heaven

"1. O'k we know you read a bible, this let's me know you are not an atheist because they don't believe in God." I've read the Quran and the Iliad too. Does that mean that I believe in Allah or Zeus? Of course not, it just means that I'm educated.

"I just want to know what version you read, and do you study it, and really put into consideration what's going on at the time things are happening in it, and why God is letting them happen." I wish that more people would read the Bible because there would be more non-Christians. The god-character of the Bible is vile.

"2. Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?" No. I don't believe in Valhalla or Hades either.

"3. Where do you see yourself going when you pass away?" In the ground. That's where everyone will go, including you.

"Are you afraid of believing in God, do you know that he sent his only begotten son on this earth to save us by shedding his blood on a cross?" That never happened. It's just silly mythology. And any "father" who would allow his son to be tortured to appease his own sadism is unworthy of the title.

"5. Who do you think you would call upon if you were dying?" Friends and family, perhaps medical professionals. An imaginary friend will not aid me.

"I'm still praying for you" I'll think for you.
