Yes it is very sad! Everyone in the community loved that place and it was one of the best place's around here to get good decent candy at also! I am with ya when ya say that his is sad all the way cuz everyone figured they would have kept doing it in his memory every year and they all just gave up and quit no problem. Your welcome!

It was a great place I agree. But the cost of pumpkins and all the work to crave them was a big burden on the residents. Times are hard.

Very true Name, but it look's like after it being put in a magazine article and all that the city of Middlesboro, would've at least wanted to keep something goin, but they didn't keep the P38 Glacier Girl here neither so y would they. Middlesboro doesn't want anything here that will bring visitor's or their money for our revenue, so u know yes it is expensive and they could do like Pineville and have a pumpkin carving night for the community to do it as well and that would take that problem out of the work's!

If tourist is what you want from pumpkin alley then tourism should pay for it. I agree with you completely. I loved that place at Halloween. But I did volunteer for them one year and it was highly expensive and extremely hard not to mention messy. And I agree all the good stuff keeps leaving Middlesboro.

I think Ambleside should do something similiar to Pumpkin Alley. It doesn't cost much to grow your own pumpkins. Yes, it takes time & prob lots of time. I know that Ambleside is popular on Halloween; atleast it use to be. Someone should look into this!!

From what I understand Ambleside is still the pretty happening little place that it's alway's been on Halloween. I do not have any idea y they don't do something for this town, there is plenty of people that live there with money (have to have some decent cash to live there place's are higher then heck up there)..... I've heard alot of people say they are taking their children there on Halloween also, God only know's Cumberland Avenue is not as happenin' as it used to be since the good old tootsie roll man died!

What I keep reading is you thinking other people should do something and spend their own money to make you something nice for Halloween. But why don't you just take your property and your money and you do it? Haha

It was my opinion and others that i know, that Pumpkin Alley was not all that great. As for being the only place in Middlesboro having the best candy, one or two pieces being handed to you, just does not make this area having the best candy. Dont know what all the hoopla is about this Pumpkin Alley?
It was just a couple of residents that only wanted to show off. The haves and the haves not. But we soon found out, the haves were the haves not.
Why dont you understand why they do not have it anymore?
They didnt have as much as they themselves thought.
Just a few show offs who could not show off anymore.

Oh Laura Lee or Sara Lee or Billy Lee.
Oh how lovely those fantastic pumpkins are every year.
You and a few sorry souls
wanting people in Middlesboro
think you are the social elite
but i have one thing to tell you.
People are laughing behind your back.
You're the bad apple, wanting people
to think your opinion is what matters.
No one could care a Rat's Azz

Why would you post such negative comments? It was a lot of work to organize Pumpkin Alley with no reward but seeing friends and neighbors have a good time. I don't think all that work was "showing off". Is your life so miserable that you have to be critical of others?
