Now it's over.
Put htis person and his 'friends' away for good.
5 and 11 time felons have no business walking among decent law abbiding people. Put them all away for the max and spare us any more of this behavior!!!! PRISON CELL'S ARE SOMETIMES VERY WORTH IT.

It's time for the family to update their website. Reporter's requests for comments from wife were directed to their website. It still states family proclaims innocense. Brother states if you have doubts, come to the trial to see his brother's vindication. Daughter says horrible things about her "real father" and continues the antics in court, if the reporter is accurate. It seems as though the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Somebody please tell me what the doctor did to have murder attempts made on his life....... This is going to be a rough Thanksgiving for the Garlington family. I would image that is also going to be a rough Thanksgiving for the Hopsons. Yes, a verdict has been given, but having being faced with they have been faced with over the past 5 years, would you feel safe? Can't blame the jurors for not giving comments, Dow states that an appeal is in the works, maybe Garlington will decide to take the stand and proclaim his innocense if the appeal is granted.......... Hopson's life was spared twice, he's meant to be hear for a reason. I hope that you will be able to exhale sooner rather than later..........

I wonder why Garlington never took the stand to defend his honor. You mean to tell me he let a bunch of convicted felons dictate his fate. Sounds like Ernie got his you know what caught in the door. About time you change that book title to Roots of a Convict. See ya in 40 or 50 years Ernie.

I think it is more heinous to make someone fear for their life than to actually pull the trigger. I hope Garlington gets more time than Santos did.

Wow. I've been trackin' this story for a minnit and based on the comments I've been readin' online it looks like garlington-dude has a LOT of folks anticipatin' his 'up-n-cominz'...na mean? Ok since some of y'all can't roll wit my casual vernacular lemme bounce it like this: Garlington obviously has a dual-persona out on the streets as well as amongst his 'professional' circles. All the 'support' statements on Garlington's website attest to that fact. It's also clear to me that Garlington and his x-Hopson spouse have ruffled some feathers and created some enemies too...given the feedback that's been posted in the comment areas related to these associated articles. With that being said it appears that the Garlingtons have been running a scam on numerous folks from BOTH sides of their social circles through sheer duplicity. Now if my observations serve me properly in terms of concluding that there is an established motive on the part of the Garlingtons to collude in harming, destroying, eliminating, or imposing physical abuse upon or getting rid of Mrs. Garlington's ex-husband (Dr. Hopson...which by the way I STILL don't know what he did to motivate Garlington's need to MURDER and/or ASSAULT him...y'know?) then it would be CLEAR in my mind that Garlington received the verdict that he deserved. My only question is this: if his spouse is somehow the catalyst for this 'scheduled voilence gone wrong' then who is responsible for REGULATING HER ACTIONS AND MOVEMENTS while she obviously is 'free' to roam the country-side with the REST of us??? Now, back to my easy-speak (the common-speak tends to be less challenging to compose for me): Whats gonna happ'n if the REAL 'juice' behind the hit is not handled? The yap on the street (online that is) is that Hopson's kids should try to hook up with him after all of this stuff went down. I dunno...if garlington-wifey is as wreckless and jacked-up as garlington-dude then I wouldn't think the kids are gonna be feelin' Doc Hopson anytime soon....4 real. It'll take lotz of time 4 heal'n to occur in THAT situation...specially if momz is a controlling-neurotic. Any chick that can get a dude to jam himself up with the law to the extent that he's facin' a BID for max 65 years and SHE'S still able to skate...is one whacked piece of work...and SOMEBODY better recognize.
Garlington is locked up, but somebody needsta keep an eye out for his wifey...na mean? From all that I've read...she ain't clean and all roads appear to lead to her (I just don't think garlington-dude woke up one day and decided "hey, I'm gonna get rid of the kids biological father just on GP...") Feel me?

BTW - it was suggested by another person sharing opinions online that I hook up with one of them daytime 'talk-ragz' or with Dr Phil...I appreciate that fact that you recognize the skillz...but I'm 4 real 'bout help'n folk...those shows tend to 'entertain' folks and I don't get down like that. The individuals and situations that are often portrayed on those programs are either being exploited for ratings or are borderline catering to a 'fringe element' of a disenfranchised segment of the community that has slipped just beneath the mainstream frame of social reference. Dr Phil DOES provide SOLUTIONS to his brand of 'socio-entertainment'...so there are some elements of value derived from his programming...but I'd agree with you, he and his producers tend to deviate every now and then ..but for the most part he keeps it 'on lock' when it comes to actually helping people more than entertaining or shooting for the 'oooohhh' factor in daytime television.
At any rate I believe theres value in sharing opinions through dialogue (verbal or written) whether it be 'online' or inline. Social Feedback helps to maintain perspective...which can be quite refreshing when we're constantly bombarded with 'canned context' and 'commercialized news content'. Besides, it's good to be able to 'weight in' on a topic or event with individuals who have their own opinions...that's were true learning occurs in society. Ok...I've waxed philosophically long enough...I've got laundry and errands to run...it's the weekend!!

There are two tragedies is this case. One, Doctor Garlington actually had "potential". He started doing well with N.O.W. he had the influence and power to help people, but he decided to turn to his past and use his old ghetto pals to solve his problems. It was hard watching that man every day and then convicting him. He looks like a person you would enjoy talking to about sports, God, or whatever. It’s sad that a man who was supposedly so in-tune with God and helping people has taken this path.
The second tragedy is the kids. How can they leave their father? How come they hate him so much? That is their father... Watching the daughter's reaction while Hopson testified was brutal. The hate in her eyes was fierce. She acted like it was his fault for being shot at and beaten. Poor confused girl. As Hopson said, there's a lot of healing that needs to be done. Hopefully they can heal and reunite.
Lastly, in regards to Garlington's testimony, we all wondered about that too and wondered why we never heard from Torrance Battle. We found out after that there is a tape of Dr. G asking Torrance Battle to burn down a house, and shoot a principle in the butt. I guess Torrance was unable to testify because of his unwillingness to cooperate and the tape was also inadmissible. If Dr. G took the stand and his relationship with Torrance was questioned, the tape could have been allowed in.

This is a very sad story, Ernie must have been and still his a good father to those kids, for a daughter to turn on her own flesh and blood like that, what could that father have done?

You are a perfect example of why Ernie ( up until now) has gotten away with his crimes.

Oh sure you saw the ever so educated gentle do gooder bible holding perfect father...
soon to hopefully rot in jail for a long time ..

The Ernie those of us have had to deal with know he is nothing what he claims to be. He is a real nut bag .
He really believes he is above all this and did nothing wrong. He is actually more sane then the wife. He is a pathologic liar. She is psychotic. He is a dangerous man ..his mood can change to very volitale very fast.
They actually tried to start up a retreat at their house to help pay for some of these legal bills it was meant to help those who need counseling the -roots of a man thing They even had a sign that said "office" for the couseling area of the house

imagine ...now it's up for sale. Some one said for over a million...all the homes together in Marion Ct.aren't worth a million..They are not going to be making any profit here ..Though I know they really believe this is the market value...not sure which 3 other homes in they area they are comparing it to.
Wait for the foreclosure I say.He has threatened other peoples lives and have gotten away with it Juror person don't be fooled..he is guilty on all accounts. Your vote speaks volumes. There is no way he could get on the stand..

Though he probably wanted to as there he would be on stage..he would have helped himself to jail on the stand. Thankfully for his neighbors will finally be able to live as they did before Garlington - quietly>

And the ONLY tragedy from all of this is that Mr. Hopson was unable to save those two kids from the Garlingtons. They were smart- nice kids who now are screwed up terribly .
The other two deserve one another. Let's hope March 20th comes and Ernest goes to where liars and criminls go. It would be nice to see the system work as it was meant to.

Sounds like you have an inside scoop.... Have you seen the U-Tube video. Daughter looks pyscho like the mom and son looks mixed up and confused.

Do you really think he will show up on the March 20th. I thought he was supposed to be sentenced in January.

How far is the house from foreclosure? Did the Roots thing generate any money....

Has anyone thought of contacting social services regarding the crazy video?

??????????s
