when someone has passed away you shouldn't write about the bad things they have done in there passed. What happened to him is a tragedy and is heart breaking, dont make him look like a terrible person and he deserved what happened to him. Learn how to write a descent story.

Patti Rowland has had more than her share of heartbreak. I'm very sorry for their loss.

It is a terrible tragedy, but why not use it as a lesson to other young men and women in similar situations. Hide the truth, no one will learn from this tragedy and it will happen again and again and...

Newtowner no one knows what this young man died from in away you make it sound as if it was drug related. If you know that for sure then you are family or friend. That means you she be there for the family not posting thing like what you said People that dont know the family will talk trash about this young man you dont need to help. And if it is drug related I'm sure the family dont need to be kicked at a time like this .

Something sounds strange. Was he ill? Was it drugs? Sounds odd that a 23 year old had trouble breathing and suddenly dies. There's more to this story that we aren't being told!!!

Maybe people will learn from this if this was the cause. Freebasing!!!
Smoking freebase is a popular route of ingestion because the cocaine is absorbed immediately into blood via the lungs, reaching the brain in about five seconds. The rush is much more intense than snorting the same amount of cocaine nasally, but the effects do not last as long. The peak of the freebase rush is over almost as soon as the user exhales the vapor, but the high typically lasts 510 minutes afterward. What makes freebasing particularly dangerous is that users typically do not wait that long for their next hit and will continue to smoke freebase until none is left.

I agree with the first post - the poor family just lost a loved one, there is absolutely no need for the media to bring up his behavior in years past - they were perhaps insinuating that his death was drug-related. Irregardless, his prior arrests are irrevelent in the family's time of grief. This paper becomes more of a rag hourly, it's sad that there isn't an alternative for people living in the Danbury area.

My condolences to the family. It's very sad, but Rowland was a public figure that left office in disgrace, so of course it'll be in the news. Also, the fact that a 23 year old died suddenly without any explanation is also odd. So of course people are going to be curious about and what happened. NT is just reporting what happened

...or even in THEIR PAST. That would be a DECENT story. Unfortunately, this does sound like the result of an overdose.

Condolences to friends and family of the deceased.

It sure does sound like some sort of drug overdose. Especially with the problems he seemed to have had in the past. Very sad.

People his age and younger die every day but they never make the news. If he wasn't related to Rowland you'd have never heard of him.

Well.... let's see. The article did say "We have lost a wonderful young man, after a long illness." So what I take away from that is that he was ill.
If you want to speculate, it sounds like it could have been an asthma attack. But who knows? And whose business is it to know? Will you sleep better tonight if you know how he died?
Well find out

Yes I will as I'm like most people and need to know. We'll find out soon. I'm sure there will be an autopsy performed. It all sounds very odd.

My condolences to the family. No parent should ever have to bury one of their children no matter how they died.

what was up with the 'anonymous phone call'? If nothing bad was going on, why did they not give them name, and then presumably get the F out of there???

Either way, it's a terrible tragedy.

Boy, KARMA sure does come around to bite people in the butt, now doesn't it?

Perhaps if Rowland had lived a GOOD life, his stepson would still be alive today.

Karma has a funny way of evening things up. It doesn't necessarily have to happen to you; but it will definitely affect you.

Be careful what you wish for.

Boy, you are a really sick person if you think that ANYTHING John Rowland did should cause that family to have to bury a 23y.o. young man. I feel pitty on you for what has caused you to live with that perspective on life.

i think people who believe in KARMA need to seek therapy.
