I say outlaw cars and there will be no more car thefts, knock down all the houses and there will be no more house break ins, blame the owners not the dog for doing as he is trained or lack of training. I have had many dogs in my life, to include german shepards, pitbulls, labs and mutts. I never had a aggressive dog, because I spend the time to train them and spend time with them and make them social animals.

I've been a pit bull owner and breeder for 30 years. Out of the thousands of dogs I've given for adoption, 0 have attacked their owners. I've been attacked by those god awful yorkies my friends have but we don't see anti-yorkie posts poping up worldwide.

you people are misinformed and iggnorant the fact is that regardless if she was nice to the pit she may no understant a dogs phsycology or his body language. and for the record someone said they they never seen a retriever do this. WRONG the media doesnt report other dogs because stupid people like you feed into the pit bull hype. lastly it probally wasnt a pure bred pit pure bred pits were used as nanny dogs at first cuz theyre great with kids. do your research i promise you this was a pit bull mix or a boxxer that looked like a pit cuz boxxers are more human aggressive. and one more thing dalmations and shitzus actually have a higher way higher bitting rate they bit more humans in 2010 then pits but almost 60 percent stupid iggnorant people smh

Like my headline?
Yesterday, there were two reports of an incident in Oshawa (just east of Toronto). A little girl was bitten by a Golden Retriever and may need plastic surgery to rebuild her face.
Here are the two reports:
City TV: Three Year Old Child Mauled by Dog
Toronto Sun: Girl, 3, Bitten by Golden Retriever
Both of these media outlets have been sensible about the whole dog issue all along. I wouldn't say they've really understood the issue but at least they have stepped up and voiced concerns over the Ontario dog breed ownership ban.
Still, I'm not satisfied with their reports because of the misinformation and the lost opportunity to educate the public.
The City report opens like this:
It's usually the perfect combination - a loving youngster and a gentle dog.
But something went horribly wrong at an Oshawa home Tuesday and now a three-year-old girl is facing the possibility of having plastic surgery.
Well, what went wrong is that the dog was just staying with the neighbours and the little kid was obviously bugging the dog somehow, maybe in an unsupervised situation.
Police say the youngster was being cared for by neighbours at 506 Lanlark Drive just after 1pm, and was petting a normally friendly Golden Retriever.
The dog has been seized by animal control and those who know the creature are baffled. Golden Retrievers are generally among the most gentle of dogs and are usually excellent with children.
I wonder who they consulted for this bizarre opinion on 'gentle' dogs who are 'excellent' with children? It wouldn't be anyone I know. It almost sounds like the type of thing self-styled expert Stanley Coren might spout - after all, he is unaware of how often dogs from the retriever group bite kids.
Dogs which are gentle and excellent with children are dogs who have been trained to be quiet and who have been exposed to children from puppyhood. As usual, breed is irrelevant.

google it my man and you will see pits actually have one of the lowest bite percentage of almost any breed. the fact is the media loves to hype it up cuz people feed into it and most people dont know what a true pit is I challenge you and anyone to go this site and pick out the pit bull i bet you your wrong !

Listen to yourselves have you all gone mad? Think about what you're saying. "Pitbulls are badddd they they shouldn't be house pets and should all be killed!" really? C'mon what kind of bs is that? Well in that case we might as well kill off every other animal out there that also kills humans. Get real. I say if you don't like pits then keep your damn mouth shut and don't get one THATS ALL lol is that so hard? As to being immature and obscene and stating that they should all be killed. Like you said it's in their nature to fight & kill which means THEY CANT HELP IT. Don't be so god damn selfish. We should all be thankful that we're still even here cause if anything we are the biggest threat to earth. Think about THAT one. I arrest my case.

-own two pits, m3 BMW, big house, great money, awesome energetic dogs. You can be a couch potato with this breed. I'm very active so this breed is good for my life style. Pitbulls are very popular right now and you do have a lot of bad breeding. With that said pitbulls are working dogs and need to be active. Dalmations can be aggressive as well if not worked out. They were bread to run next to a carriage for miles. Any dog can be bad.

Just because she raised the dog doesn't mean she actually had a close relationship with them, a redneck "Robert" that lives near me keeps his american white shepherd "Bear" chained up all day, the only interaction between them is when the dog gets fed. He told us that "One day when he went to fill Bear's water dish, he lunged at his face. Luckily the dog was chained up, so he didn't get a good grip." He dropped Bear off at an animal shelter 2 days after it happened. If you watch shows like animal cops, you would see this happens alot, and not just with pit bull's and shepherds.

Pitbulls learn ignorance from the owner, animals majority of the time attitudes and personality resembles their owners. How ever much love, time and attention you put in will show...keep word is TIME

I have a blue pit and he's 4 years old. He's been the best dog. I was just like all of yall, did not want that dog in my yard. Well, my husband got him anyway. He's been great with my son and my sons 11. My husband passed away 2 years ago, he's became more protective of us. He knows that we don't have that since my husband died. He's very smart. He does need a lot of attention though. He's been a great dog and he's our protector. The way things are turning in our society, with break ins and stealing. I sure would think twice before you come to my house. He's our protector and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Yes.. pitbulls are the gladiator of all dogs.. but to pick a specific breed and say put them in the zoo with the lions is outrageous lol.. any animal can turn on anyone for any reason.. i dont know how many times ive turned my back to a poodle and had my ankles nipped at.. cmon now with all this pitbulls cant be trusted BS.. lol i do know one thing.. my pitbull can be trusted more then 99% of the people i meet.. maybe its time to start putting people to sleep.
