I to am very disappointed in Dr. Pellegrino. I started seeing him in Feb for Fybromyalgia which I was already diagnosed with. He tried the Lidocaine IV twice but did not work. At every visit he asked if I had stopped working. I work 2 jobs just to pay bills then with all the Drs. visits I had to pick up OT just to pay. I finally did alot of soul searching and took short term disability but when it came time to fill out the paper work he denied everything. So as a result I almost lost my job my home my car and everything I owned. It was as if he felt he couldnt help me so he said sorry I cant do anything else for you and he wouldnt see me anymore. Not before he changed my medication that didnt work so now I'm back to square one. He is not a compassionate man and he is just out for the money. If he cant help he just turns his back on you. If everyone is smart you will leave him before he kicks you to the curb with NOTHING. Dr. Pellegrino I hope you read this and start to understand that you are messing with real people here not just a statistic.
I'm replying to this message I too am overwhelmed with this its been a long process I for one lost my job because of being off work for 3 months. I'm so lost on what to do. The pain at times is over whelming. He refused to sign my paper work explaining what's wrong with me. Therefore no job.

I have family members that have seen the Dr. I have been calling and all you can do to try and get an appointment is leave messages that his office staff do NOT return. Very unprofessional for the cost of medical today.
Very Very poor system at his office with very poor people working the scheduling dept.

Dr. Pellegrino is the most compassionate physician I've ever met. He listens. He asks questions. He allows my questions. He is not hurried. He's helped me more by caring and his book proves his compassion. He's the most knowledgeable on Fibromyalgia. He is an advisor on WebMD, helping hundreds of people he hasn't even met.He does this from the heart, not for money, as there is no pay.
I think anyone who feels negatively should try another visit with him. First impressions are often not correct.
His humor is so insightful, well thought out, and ..well I can go on and on. But at least give him another try. I know you won't regret it.
He also suffers from this pain in the neck illness, which helps him to know what to ask, and how to help others.

I just wrote the last comment, and noticed it said I am from Cleveland, but I am not. I am from Canton Ohio.
I am not predjudiced for Dr. Pelligrino. I have spoken the truth of my experience with him and advise anyone to try again.
Sometimes personalities clash on a day for some reason or other, and another day they may get along swimmingly. Also, some will just always clash.
He has bent over backwards for me and my health, and I am noone special. But he IS!
I suggest you visit WebMd , the fibromyalgia discussions there, watch how he addresses questions, see his compassionate LONG replies answering each question thoroughly, and giving hope to whoever asked a question. See his humor, buy his book, or rent it from the library. If he doesn't have an answer, which is rare, he will find it for you. Like I said, I can go on and on. Do yourself a favor. Give him another call.

I was diagnosed with fibrmyalgia by Dr. Pellegrina and was grateful to learn what caused my never ending my pain. He perscribed heavy pain meds. that dulled the pain a little. I eventually went to Dr. James Krystosik in Solon, Ohio who believes that fibromyalgia and all the maladies that come with it are a result of food allergies. He was right! I am not totally pain free, but I am 90% better, I finally sleep through the night and have lost weight. My acne has gone away and I no longer have bone loss. All this and much more was accomplished through naturally means.
If you are truly in severe pain and want to get off harmfull pills and are willing to do do the work to recover go see Dr. Krystosik.

COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO OHIO PAIN.
Hello Dr. Pellegrino,

I was a patient at your office till yesterday 10/17/13. I was seen by an assistant (Carrie) She was very rude in talking to me and demanded another drug test. I had one just a few months back and I passed it. I and my husband explained that my insurance does not cover these drug tests and they cost about 400.00 that we don't have currently. She said she did not care about our finances. So my husband said lets leave and we did.

Now I want to also explain another event with this assistant ( Carrie ) when she ordered me to take my 1st drug test she also stated I was to bring back my unused pain medication. I've never heard of such a thing however I did bring them back to my next few appointments and she never did a follow up so I never left them. In my opinion this just shows how competent Miss, Carrie is! Besides being very rude!

I'm extremely unhappy with this person and believe something should be said and this is why I'm sending this email hoping it gets to Dr. Pellegrino. I will be seeing my family Dr. instead of going back to Ohio Pain due to the way I was treated by this so called assistant.

I have seen Dr. Pellegrino several times for fibro and chronic pain. In reading the above postings, I was grinning because I have been treated by both Dr Pellegrinos! There have been times I have left his office furious, crying, and feeling like he is no different than others who don't understand the pain we live with every day. And there have been other times I have gone to him and he really helped me, listened to me, and let me participate in deciding my treatment. I'm never sure which doctor I will see before my appointsments. But then again, I have had my bad days too when the pain has been long lasting and I can't get relief. So I imagine he deals with his pain as we all do - which sometimes makes us all seem a bit moody. I do wonder why he never recommends massage therapy for me. So I just get it on my own. I am seeing him this week - wish me luck!
I saw Dr. P three times. Each time was different. His moods are extreme. Sometimes extremely attentive and compassionate, other times abrupt and off-putting. I sense the difference is that when he becomes so preoccupied with his writing and research, he cannot shift gears to compassionate and attentive. I am fortunate that my FIRST appt was a good one.

I think Dr. Pelligrino is a quack. He comes off as running a patient mill. He fraudulently billed my insurance 3 times. His patient notes were incomplete. He omitted so much information from hair loss to discolored skin patches. The only contact was the initial consultation, then panned off to other Dr's in the office. Even when asked to see him, it never happened. A wasted year and too much money. I would certainly never recommend him.

I've heard of Dr. Pelligrino for years, but have never researched him, so I decided to check up on him before trying to make an appointment. I live about 4 hours away from Canton & am I glad I read these evaluations. I will NOT be calling his office.

It takes a quack doctor to fix a quack ailment like fibromyalgia and water rolls off that man's back when he waddles.

Fibromyalgia is not a quack illness-believe me it is real! I get acupuncture, massage and take some medications. However, when I went to call his office, I have yet to talk to a real person. I have called four times and received calls back when I was unable to answer my phone ( I teach) and have yet to reach a human being. The last call has now gone unreturned for seven days. I guess they don't care or really don't need my business.

my primary care doctor sent me to see Dr. Pellegrino for my Scoliosis. As soon as he found out that I also suffer from Fibromyalgia that is all he wants to treat me for. My primary doctor all ready has me on Savella that is working amazing. But Dr. Pellegrino sais no that I need trigger injections for the fibromyalgia. He didn't like it when I old him that I was there to be treated for Scoliosis not Fibromyalgia he didn't seem to want to help me. I was very disappointed with this so called doctor. The day after I seen him my thighs, hips, shoulders, and back was bruised from the exam. I left there in tears because of how much pain I was in. I will never go to this doctor again r recommend him to anyone.

Pellegrino twisted my body, had to grab his arm so I wouldn't fall. Severe spams in ribs, ended up in er 20 minutes after exam. Ribs were sore for a week. Also bruises on injured ankle and knee.
