Using birth control is not having an abortion..it's actually preventing one.

Palin cannot outlaw contraceptives. You're giving her way too much power. As a VP...she actually can't do anything..it's her philosophy that's in question. McCain can cause trouble..but not with contraception....

I believe women could be that stupid. When they march with signs that say Hockey Moms for Palin or OUTLAW ABORTION LIKE PALIN..
You bet they are ignorant.
Speak for myself?...I'm not a Palin supporter, nor do I want to see Roe v Wade outlawed by the already bible thumping stacked Supreme Court. She has no experience in governing-A COUNTRY..and if these women think that a Pres Palin is in their future (unfortunately everyone's future if that be the case)....perhaps the last eight years will finally NOT look so bad..and that's saying something...because being in Iraq is god's work. Or, didn't you know that she said that. Becoming pregnant by rape or incest...doesn't matter...YOU WILL HAVE THAT BABY.
THERE..I've spoken FOR myself ..but about others.
I'd hate to agree with you, but I do. Some people are THAT ignorant.

She has already indicated that she wants what Cheney wanted and got: more power for the VP.

Furthermore, via an insidious mechanism called "political appointee" they can put people in that will slowly erode the availability of contraception.

For example, a number of states are already backing pharmacists that don't want to prescribe BC based on moral grounds. Where are these people to go if there are no other pharmacies around?

Never say never. Wherever there is megalomania and greed, there is a way.

Said before....he could have picked a munchkin from Oz..the GOP lovers wouldn't care. 72 is not OLD..but John McCain is OLD and he's RIGID and he wants to take personal CHOICE way from families, from women..Perhaps it's VietNam. He's damaged by that and a hot head-don't need a hot head calling the shots.
Sad, but true.

Gov. Palin is anti abortion including cases of rape or incest and she is also anti contraceptives, including condoms. I will never, ever vote for a woman who does not respect another woman's right to choose. She definitely appeals to the religious right wingers which is why I believed she was chosen. To shore up the far right base of the republican party. She was a base pick. No one was excited about McCain and they needed to do something to excite the base of the party. Well I think they accomplished that but I don't believe she would appeal to most women. She is too extreme. Don't know what I would do if I was raped and got pregnant from the rape but I do know that I would want the choice of keeping the child or not keeping the child. If my daughter became pregnant through incest (heaven forbid) I would like the choice of whether we should keep the child or not. Give me a break. I won't even get into her positions on contraceptives even if you are married. She is crazy and not very realistic.
Well said! I totally agree.

I am a mother of six children...I am one of thirteen very conservative children...my very conservative family with a total of 40 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren will be voting for McCain/Palin. Sarah Palin is a hero...she is the voice for all the unborn babies and the voice of all the special needs children out there. Her appointment as V.P. is totally blessed by God...I know this country cannot stand if we continue on practicing infanticide and murder of little babies in and out of the Mother. I know that we are teetering on the brink of something major and someone like Sarah will protect the little innocents..she will provide for Mother and child and she will be a torch on the mountain top..a light for the world to see....she is making her way through the darkness and hope is on it's way. As V.P. she will enlighten some very hardened hearts and she will bring to bear some very serious ills in our government and she will probably only be there for a little while...but the need for her style and way of thinking is so great...God is going to bring her message to the foreground...maybe only to shake up washington and allow some fresh blood to flow into a very dead cold barren empty heartless clueless souless hiarchy..but it's time. I hope it's in the capacity of V.P. but maybe only just for this one stint as a V.P. candidate...she has been very vocal and people are totally about the message she is sending. Maybe not the bulk of posters on these blogs....you know what I mean.

Now, to me, having so many children is incredibly irresponsible. Imagine if EVERY singke person had 10-12 children! Our resources are taxed already. This planet can not sustain an uncontrolled population growth like that.

However, even though I feel strongly AGAINST people having too many children, I would NEVER tell them what to do, or want laws in place telling them how many children they should have.

It is my opinion that peoples' reproductive choices (10 kids, no kids, anywhere in between) are none of MY business, just like MY reproductive choices are none of THEIR business.

Intersting! Chances are that you don't have much hope. People are the hope for tomorrow. Our family has a history of personal successes. My children and my siblings children and all of my siblings are incredible. We are successful people and have raised and are still raising productive exceptional families. So what we pull out...which isn't much...we more than give back and then some!
My siblings home school their children..I do not.
I cannot imagine anyone making such a mindless comment but to each his own...in any case...from my family alone voting John McCain Sarah Palin...we represent!

My, my. Hit a nerve, did we? Why would you be so presumptuous to assume that me and mine are not "successful"? We have diplomats and Archbishops, judges and surgeons in my family. I happen to come from titled/landed people in Europe, as recently as the early 1900's.

I'm not entirely sure why you feel compelled to blather on about how successful you and your minions are. I DO hope that they are responsible with the limited resources that we have, and not insisting on building mega-mansions with a total lack of regard for green space and wildlife.

It is interesting that you use the term "mindless" in the same sentence as "Sarah Palin". How apropo.

BTW, I am a moderate conservative who was all set to vote for McCain, and was hoping to see Romney as his VP. Palin is an empty-headed, absentee mother who is out of her league, and she knows it.

lalalulu? Yes very telltale...in any event this was your quote:" Now, to me, having so many children is incredibly irresponsible. Imagine if EVERY singke person had 10-12 children! Our resources are taxed already. This planet can not sustain an uncontrolled population growth like that.
However, even though I feel strongly AGAINST people having too many children"

That being said...my blathering was to point out that successful humans on this planet bring positive contributions and do not deplete anything...hopeless comments like yours demonstrate the total lack of true value placed on humanity. You would rather have a population implosion for the next generations to deal with?
If you want to see what that looks like long term, start reading some books on the subject...How about : "America Alone". So I blathered to bring to your attention a better way of viewing large families; I'll admit it was a long shot...from the depth of what you wrote, or should I say lack of depth.. Don't be so worried about the "green space" resources...the trees will be there for another 2000 years..stop the panic mode on that score...Wow!
Building Mansions? Are you kidding? What are you talking about?
Sarah Palin as an absentee mother? Astounding..so what are you saying now...you know her that well do you? Let me tell you as a mother...most mothers today aren't worth their salt..selfish, cold, heartless and totally void of their natural instinct, in fact many are so selfish they would prefer others to take care of their babies over themselves hands down.If you think absentee mothering is the same as leaving your children to the care of your spouse or your daughter or your son or your own parents...you are seriously flawed in your judgement. Men are therefore absentee fathers too I guess. hmmmm double standard there.
What league is she supposed to be in?
I didn't know that she had to fit some league to run for V.P. or even President for that matter, but what I do know is that she has held executive offices for five years now...she's got the backing of the entire state of Alaska give or take a few knuckeheads you might find company with...who knows...but anyway... God Speed to John McCain and Sarah Palin!
