Former Coram UA property a target for redevelopment?

An unnamed "national developer" is planning to purchase the former United Artists Movie Theater in Coram and is interested in building a mixed-use downtown center, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko announced Monday.

i wonder whats going to happen to the huge homeless population on that site.if you dont believe me you should take a look for yourself.i been on that property many times, i once saw many guys and girls chillen in front of a huge homemade dwelling,had a big firepit that was blazing and they were all drinking.i did not have the balls to go inside though.there are many different points of entry,its sad i used to go there with my mom and dad and sis when we were young.as the years passesd it was less safe and in my hs years was a place of drugs and violence.at least the long island graffiti heads are getting some use out of this spot.

it is sad they need more housing for the homeless at the least shelters a place to go especailly now that its so cold. coarm has changed over the years it one time 20 yrs back was beautiful now its a question or not to go to the area. ever see that man that takes his bike all over in the camo outfit? i wonder what his deal really is? it's a shame. Wonder what it will be like in 20 more years?

that guy is everywhere.funny you said something, i think about him and all the homeless i see when its cold out.he was maybe in the military and was just mentally ill.hes in selden and coram mostly from what i see.20 years from now i hope im off this island,i have a 5 month old and have no idea where i want my child to attened school.all of them are horrible.i went to longwood.i dont want to have to worry about something when i drop my kid of at grandmas and grandpas in coram.damn shame
