It seems to me that a lot of you are jumping to conclusions and haven't even read the article correctly.
The accusation is that he met the girl outside of school on THREE different occassions. I had Mr. Faralan for a study hall, my brother and gf had him for Math. The guy seemed to be well disciplined and a caring teacher. I'm not saying he didn't do it. The way the girls treated him in the school, I wouldn't be surprised. He was the teacher all the girls talked 'bout screwing(That's not his fault). In my opinion, and hope is that he is being falsely accused by a little whore (she's a little whore, regardless if her story is true or not). Like I said, I don't want to condone the actions he is being accused of. The girl knew what she was doing then, now and she should be ashamed of herself. I don't care what any of you older ladies and gents think. At 16, this girl knows wrong from right. Meeting a teacher outside of school on three different occassions is wrong. As for whoever the teacher is that says that they were Mr. Faralan's friend. I hope you still are until he's ATLEAST proven guilty. I have so much more to say but I find this post growing long..
the law says you cant have sex or conduct a sexual act with a person under 16. END OF STORY. whether she knew what she was doing or not, he took advantage and broke the law. as we all know, all the girls in the school thought very highly of mr faralan and if there was a teacher they wanted to make out with it would have been him. sorry mr reany. but really though, she was 16 at the time and if any of you could put yourself in her shoes, im willing to bet you wouldnt go running straight to the police. she came forward after years of therapy, after KNOWING of other girls that he was with during the same time period from the same school and that didnt want to "start trouble". he moved away because a completely differnt girl was making threats that if he didnt stop IM'ing her she was going to go to the police with what they had done. he was scared and didnt want to embarass his family. as far as i heard, he begged this victim that came forward not to do anything crazy because he has a wife and a child. this victim was afraid he would do it again in cali and im am so proud of her for coming forward. he deserves what he gets and like i said, he will be found guilty.

Obviously he broke the law either way but that doesn't excuse the girl for her actions.
If anybody thinks a 16 year old girl can't handle their own these days. you're living in a bubble. That doesn't make it legal, I'm well aware of that.
I don't care if he's guilty or not. He deserves punishment but you might as well execute him and for what? because he fooled around with a girl a year younger than the legal age of consent. If she was so "foolish" that she didn't know the score than her parents are part to blame as well for raising their daughter so poorly. I'm sure she didn't come to school every day with her skirt in her crotch...

The legal limit is set for a reason, because the law(society) thinks that at the age of 16 you are not yet an adult and cannot make as clear a decision as an adult. I know at 16 I made choices that i most certainly wouldnt make now. She made a poor choice but her actions were not illegal and obviously she does not like the outcome. She came forward because she was taken advantage of, she was manipulated and regardless of what provocative outfits she wore to class, the teacher who is an adult and should be held to higher standards as they are the ones that lead the children.
We all know that women are much more mature than men (at the same age). So a 16 year old female is more like a 19 year old, and thus the age limit should be lowered for females but kept at 16 for males. The legal age for a female should be about 13.

I had Mr. Faralan in 10th grade and i was in one of his classes on his first year teaching in my school. I am now a senior and heard about what happened.i cannot believe that someone would accuse Mr. Faralan of doing something like this. I do believe that Mr. Faralan was the great teacher I have ever had. Even though I was a quiet student and didn't really talk to him much, I learned so much from him. He really makes his classes fun like especially when he talks about his son. If one of his students didn't understood what he was explaining, he would go back and explain the whole thing again. I can never forget about this great teacher. He told me if I ever have any trouble with math or with any other math classes after, that i can ask him for help. This math teacher wasn't just a teacher but also a coach who pushes his student to do their best. Mr. Faralan is at school from 7 in the morning to help out his students and past students who are in trouble with math. I would say that would be a great example of a great teacher right there. I just cannot believe this would ever happen to an awesome teacher.

I highly doubt she has come forward because she didn't like the outcome. Girls use their bodies for attention and don't think twice about it. You're not a 16 year old girl living in 2007 so don't try to think like one unless you have your 16 year old daughter telling you EXACTLY what she's thinking, which she won't because it'll be more perverse than anything you've watched on one of those gas station DVD's.

Again, I understand the law states 16 is illegal, there is no argument there. A line has to be drawn somewhere. At the same time I think it's ridiculous to put a guy in jail for 12 years because some tramp wanted to suck him off. Her parents should've raised her better, and his.

and can we please stop acting like girls are more mature than guys, they prove time and time again that they're not.

I have known him for over 15 yrs. He worked at Costco and as much as I do not want to beleive this, HE WAS A DOG! Maybe he changed but I highly doubt it. Because of his martial arts skills, he always thought he was above everyone else! Most martial arts instructors practice force only when necessary, not him. He was always looking for a fight. Guess he'll be coming back down to reality real soon!
Yes he was always looking for a fight...even with girls. Maybe it was a complex about his height or something...who knows...
All I have to say is KARMA is a *****!!!! He'll get it all back in prison.

I graduated from Longwood, but did not have the opportunity to be in any of his classes, but I do know for a fact that a girl from one of the sports teams at Longwood was seeing him for some "extra credit" all throughout her junior and senior year... I realize that the decision to see him was wrong, but it was also her choice. The girl who has come foward against him also had the choice, HOWEVER- The fact that he is responsible, albeit for 38 minutes of the day, for children as young as 16 (freshman math) means that the Suffolk PD should earn their 110K yearly salary and investigate their buns off and finally put an end to his "extracurricular" activities.

I also knew him for a long time, he was a complete pervert and hit on every half decent woman he saw. those of you who wrote that you knew him and didnt know he was capable of this obviously didnt know him that well.
This incident does not surprise me in least, i kinda knew something like this would happen eventually.

On a side note: He does have a very nice family, that doesnt make him a good person. I hope his wife gets rid of him and finds a guy she deserves who can actually be a good role model to her child. This isnt the first time he cheated on her, its just the first time he was brought up on criminal charges. Kudos to the young lady for finally getting up the nerve to say what happened its a hard thing to do, and it just took her awhile to find the courage.

What can I say? I could not agree with you more. I think many of us know what he is and I am a personal witness to what this man is capable of. This is not the first time he had commited a crime, and it will not be the last if he is not convicted. The only thing I am surprised about is that he did not get caught sooner. I am glad the victim came foward, and encourge others out there to do the same.

He never got caught because his victims were either in love with him or deathly afraid of him. Or both. Believe me, I know. Good for that girl who realized that charges needed to be pressed against him.

HA! in love. gimme a break. they loved the sex and what they got out of it but knew it was wrong anyways. trust me i know all about it. not first hand but i know close enough.

if anything deathly afraid is more like it. girls were too younge to make that sort of "connection" anyways to know it was love. he was very forceful and i remember one instance hearing that if a girl didnt wanna have sex with him hed call them a "lesbian" or something like that.

he was a shovenistic pig without a nice bone in his body. i thought a baby and a wife would change him and this would be all over but nope once a pig always a pig

i have ZERO sympathy for this guy and i completely agree the girl did the right thing in finally exposing this creep

Must be nice to have all these obvious backstabbers with personal gripes against the accused.

I'm sure you'll come out of hiding from behind your PC screens and be there at the trial to testify against him too right?....I didn't think so.

Cowards.

I've known him a long time. He's a dog. Always has been. I even heard about more girls than the one he's being charged from. I've always felt bad for his wife because she was clueless to it all.
