I'm sorry to say that L.I. will never be the same peaceful, idylic countryside that it has been for so long. We are being drowned in a sea of people fleeing the overpopulated areas of western nassau and Queens. Added to that are the immigrants legal and illegal. Along with them they bring a large number of parasitic human garbage, such as the church vandals mentioned in the article, and their supporters(check the forgegoing comment). Add to that the professional criminal, ready to perform all manner of criminal behavior and brutality. The result? Long Island as we know it today.

Little Sickos. I just know it was some little teenagers drunk on beer they stole from their parents refrigerator.

I hope that the bias unit will pursue the criminals with the same diligence that they use when the target is a temple or black. Since the victims are likely white Christians however, I doubt it. They seem to be considered fair game.

Maybe it was the Middle Island school property tax payers giving the school board and teachers a message about the outrageous school taxes.

"A supposed reference to the devil?" Are you kidding me? Newsday is at it again with their "PC" nonsense.
By the way, Newsday's ace reporting and editing staff seem to have forgotten a simple grammatical rule - a comma goes inside of quotations.
It should read:'in the Book of Revelation the number 666 is associated with "the beast," a supposed reference to the devil.'

A moron is someone who doesnt know the difference between you're and your. Perhaps you should go back to 2nd grade !!!

Actually, the beast refered to is not the Devil; it's Man. But why would anyone bother to do any research into this ? No.... people will just believe whatever the church tells them.

Have a great day !!!!

Religion. It's horrible look what's happening in Iraq over religious beliefs.

If we don't abolish these cults at the very least they should teach that no religion is better or worse then the other. So this crap wont happen. They wont do that because they may lose money...it is a big business after all.

You'll hear nothing else on this story, white born-again Christians in the Northeast (especially LI) having their civil rights violated? You LIers know better than that, that's not a crime. The victims are the wrong 1.ethnicity and 2.religion. If the vandals wanted more coverage than just this, they picked on the wrong church. Nothing to see hear folks.

Wow, that's just plain ignorant. Without breaking this down, if you're reading this, that's just flat out ignorant. Maybe I will break it down - "the beast" is Satan incarnate. Best get your bifurcated tail back to Sunday School Effigy. And have somebody 'splain the big words to you.

Shnook. Long Island was never a "peaceful, idylic countryside that it has been for so long." Looking at the past through rose colored glasses makes one forget that traffic has always been an nightmare, bad neighborhoods always existed there, first LILCO and now the LIPA stick it to us (remember Shoreham?), the LIRR sucked since the steam train and the middle class always had to struggle to live there. Only if you're from and old money family from the N. shore was life ever a piece of cake on L.I.

To this very day, L.I. has more culture, diversity, industry and recreation than most countries.

Get real.

Read between the lines! It's called analytical thinking skills and it's taught to teenagers. When reading between the lines, one infers, meaning a logical guess, to the communicator's intentions of whatever he said or wrote. I meant most likely it was teenagers who were educated by all the school property tax money we send to the school districts twice a year.

A moron is someone who interprets freedom of speech as "I have a right to be an idiot". You are sadly mistaken. In fact, you are an iriot - an irritating idiot. You wouldn't have the guts to say the things you do in public, to my or anyone else's face because you fear having your nose bloodied and broken.

Being politically correct would involve unbiased thinking and reporting. A nice dream, but don't hold your breath. The concept of Paganism is not neccessarily always based in evil. This was undeniably an act of vandalism, but we do not know the exact motivation of the perpetrator.
