how come it took the village highway dept 4 hours to fix 2 potholes on whittier drive today? they were on the corner by lincoln for 4 hours today. that seems excessive. maybe they need someone who actually knows what they are doing.

I would like to know what the hell they are doing to the roads. They look awful. The fix is worse than the problem. At a recent village meeting, it was stated that these new state of the art machines made it impossible to tell where the roadwork had been done. Obviously this is not the same machine/process that was talked about, because it looks like a drunk threw tar around all over the place and the roads don't seem better. Maybe they should have left it to the real professionals. Just saying.....

but we're "cost neutral". We pay the same as before, what , you expected it to be the same? It's like they spend 10hours a day melting black crayons all over the road. I'm sure crayons would hold up better.

Sadly, I've just read that $500,000.00 has been delegated to the MBV for the purpose of installing a sewer treatment facility. This is being done supposedly to enhance the probability of enticing more lucrative businesses to the area. This will be a moot point, as businesses need to thrive on accessibility to the area - being so far down Wm. Floyd Parkway will in no way attract the types of restaurants and other businesses that currently exist on Montauk Highway - those that are there stand a chance at survival because they are located close to Sunrise, relatively in the middle of the Tri - Hamlet community. To think any substantial business has a chance of survival based solely on the residents in the surrounding area will be money wasted. And no realistic business person would bother investing their money which has little chance of seeing any return. Now, in the SSP, Bill Biondi stated he ad the trustees would FINALLY be receiving a salary - I was at the meetings prior to incorporation - what happened to the "Poor Village" concept - they emphatically stated all positions, from mayor to trustee, would not be paid positions. Sorry to see how all these people ended up lying to you in MBV.
The hundreds of people on the way to and from the beach may stop if there were more than a CVS and dumpy little restaurants.

Even if they did make that turn onto Neighborhood Rd, they would only make it once. Our business district is seedy dump.
